Excellent fractional plates

These plates came in a sturdy cardboard box. They were smaller than I expected them to be, but I like that because they are very easy to transport. The first thing I did when I got them was weigh them on my food scale. The 1/4 lb plates both weighed 4 oz, the 1/2 lb plates were 8 oz, the 3/4 plates were 12 oz, and the 1 lb plates were 16 oz. So they were all quite accurate. When I received them, there were some smudges on the paint, but I think they will probably come out with a little bit of…

Nice fractional plates

I recently hit a plateau overhead pressing as part of Stronglifts 5x5. The app suggested that I purchase some fractional plates, so I bought these after a little research. They look nice. I weighed them on my kitchen scale and they're all within 0.15 ounces of their stated weight. They fit on my Olympic barbell without being too loose or too tight.

Pros
  • Can be used for a variety of strength training exercises
Cons
  • Increases the risk of muscle imbalances

Great for dumbbell as well as barbell work!

I purchased two sets of these, in order to have a sufficient number of plates for dumbbell as well as barbell work. They're especially useful for the former, since - in my gym - the weight of the dumbbells increases in 5 pound increments > 30 pounds. The ability to customize the weights I lift is well worth the (minor) hassle of packing the plates I need around with me on the gym floor.

Pros
  • Affordable
Cons
  • Difficult to organize and store properly

Exactly as Promised

Just what I wanted. I use the Stronglifts program, and it involves continually adding weights. Sometimes 2.5 on each side is much too much. These work perfectly to help my incremental increases. Good quality and I like the colors. Also, the box is durable so I still use it - but a bag to hold them might be nice.

Pros
  • Bought these to help my bench press, they are sturdy and fit the barbell. The rest is up to me!
Cons
  • Limited range of weight increments

I was a bit disappointed that the weights are a bit off

I was a bit disappointed that the weights are a bit off. The whole stack was a little over an ounce over 5lbs, but I doubt I will notice the discrepancy when I am lifting. I did notice that some paint of the plates had paint on them from other plates, but the plates were not damaged it is just cosmetic. Overall I am happy with the product so far. I just received them and have only used them once, but they work well and fit on a 2" Olympic bar perfectly.

Pros
  • Exercise & Fitness
Cons
  • Extra weight can cause strain on the joints

Great Product. Well worth it!

Fit's my Olympic-spec Pendlay barbell and off-brand speciality bars just fine. Weights are made out of painted metal, which may flake off with use, but you can always repaint. I'm not sure on the accuracy of the weights, I didn't measure, but I'm not too worried about it. For the price it's tough to beat!

Pros
  • Can be used for rehabilitation purposes
Cons
  • Extra weight may cause injury during sudden movements

Great for Smolov Jr.!

These worked out perfect for a Smolov Jr. Bench Press Program. Don't know what Smolov is? Do you even lift bro?!?! Smolov Jr. is an abbreviated version of the Smolov squatting protocol. It is also very often used for bench press. It's a 4-day-a-week for 3 weeks lifting protocol. The reason these fractional weight plates work so well is Smolov is based off of your "one rep max". When the calculations come out, most of the time you get weird numbers like 168lbs which requires something like…

Pros
  • Provides a simple yet effective way to improve your fitness
Cons
  • Requires proper ventilation to prevent damage

Great Swedish quality at a reasonable price

I got this set since I like to be able to add very small increments of weight when I get "stuck" or don't want to go up as much as 5 pounds. These plates are very well made, very high quality coating and the machining quality is very very good. I would recommend them highly for anyone who needs some small fractional plates for an olympic set.

Pros
  • Good value for the money
Cons
  • Expensive compared to regular weight plates

great product! Fractional plates were recommended to me by .

Speedy shipping, great product! Fractional plates were recommended to me by my powerlifting coach as a good way to add small amounts of weight to bench lifts.

Pros
  • These came in handy when a 5lb jump was too much on my Overhead Press. I love them!
Cons
  • Only useful for advanced weightlifting programs

Good enough: my feedback

When I received the package I noticed the quarter pound plates were rusted. I reached out to customer service and they sent me another set which was in much better condition. Customer service was awesome. I will say that the paint is chips off rather easy tho. Still a good product

Pros
  • Compatible with most barbells
Cons
  • Cannot be used for bodyweight exercises

Revainrating 5 out of 5

I should have gotten these earlier.

Being able to increment in smaller than 5 lbs increment is huge. I was getting bored before because the lower step was too easy and boring, and the higher step was too difficult/painful. Now i can increase in very small increments and keep going and making progress.I just wish I didn't make the mistake of getting the wrong hole size, using rubber bands to keep them from rattling on a small handle is kinda lame, but that's on me.Months later I have seem to deterioration, no paint chipping or…

Pros
  • Can be used for both home and commercial gym setups
Cons
  • Limited compatibility with some weight sets

Good deal for small gains

Good deal, they fit the bar, versitile incraments, solid plates. I haven't used them long enough to say how durable the paint is, but so far its holding up.

Pros
  • The paint has chipped off a little but I’d say they’re definitely worth the money.
Cons
  • Requires specialized equipment for use

Good product for the price. A couple were off by a little, but not enough to be noticeable on the bar. One of the best things about them is that they are steel instead of rubber or polyurethane, so they slide on and off the bar very easily making for very fast weight changes and speeding up the workout accordingly. Plus they should be much more durable than rubber plates. The one negative for me is that they are only sold in sets. I wanted to buy some additional 1 pound plates - six more to be…

Pros
  • Provides a cost-effective way to extend your weight collection
Cons
  • Limited versatility for different types of lifts

Outstanding best in my review

I really enjoy having these as part of my gym kit. They are a great way to increase in small steps what you are planning to lift so you can prevent overdoing it. I love them for dumbbell workout movements.

Pros
  • ✅ USE ON A BARBELL OR SEPARATELY: The plates can be put on a barbell to slowly increase the weight when doing home exercises such as bench press or military press. The plates can also be used separately. For example, you can hold the weight in your hand when doing squats or raise it above your head training at the gym.
Cons
  • Only useful for certain strength training programs

I just received this beautiful set of microplates. I did a lot of research and thought that it would be worth spending a little extra money to get top quality plates.I use them for my bench press workouts at the local commercial gym. The smallest plates available at my gym are 2.5 pounds. These micro plates work wonderfully to allow me to add much smaller increments of weight while still seeing strength gains. Perfect for preparing for powerlifting meets. The quality of the plates is excellent…

Pros
  • Boosts your energy levels
Cons
  • Can be difficult to clean completely

I've been very happy with them over all

I bought these plates to use with the 5x5 program, as the smallest plates available at my gym are 2.5#. These arrived well packaged and promptly. I checked then all on my digital kitchen scale, and most were exactly right, the ones that were off were only off by 1/8 oz. I've been very happy them over all, and would recommend them to anyone looking for fractional plates.

Pros
  • Helps improve technique and form
Cons
  • Can be difficult to find replacement parts

Nice fractional plates. Great for squeezing more out of your progressive overload training- especially the overhead press. Plates seem to be painted well so it should last. Easy to put on and take off on an olympic bar. It would be nice if they included a durable foam carrying case of some sort with the plates, but that's just a suggestion. The micro plates are functional, well-made, and useful.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Can throw off lifting form if not attached correctly

Very excited about these!

Excellent set of fractional plates for the price. Came packaged very nicely which made it easier for wrapping since they were purchased as a gift for someone. Was looking for a set that was cheaper than Rogue Fitness' fractional plates (I think paying $65 for Rogue's set of 5lbs of fractional plates is ridiculous). These were just as nice and accurate to the weights they were labelled as. Great product!

Pros
  • Ideal for bodybuilders who need to target specific muscle groups
Cons
  • Extra weight can put pressure on the wrists and forearms

Cute Yet Functional Thanks!

My husband was surprised when I purchased the fractional weights. He uses them in combination of his Rogues weights. The weights had scuffs, but it doesn’t effect how the weights work.

Pros
  • Adds precision to your weight increments
Cons
  • Susceptible to damage during transportation

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Perfect for micro loading a barbell

Perfect for micro loading a barbell if you are doing a strength training program like StrongLifts 5x5 or StrongLift to continue progressive overload when you are starting to slow down or stall. They look great though they are painted and may eventually chip and scuff up, but really though they would work just as well if scratched up.

Pros
  • Helps boost your metabolism
Cons
  • Limited warranty or refund policy
