Easy peasy good for rough plumbing

Removed old Qest connector, sanded pipe, wiped with a rag and dressed the pup. Presto, done. No leaks. On the outlet side I again added an adapter to the 1/4" shark bite (with a special T in between - otherwise I would have just bought a shark to shark bite valve) and made my own sink faucet cut to length. Again very easy no leaks and just the right length so it doesn't kink or pull on the connection like most standard length hoses do. Three times more likely than metal compression fittings…

Pros
  • Best in its niche
Cons
  • Not everything fits

Very easy installation Great product

I have bought 14 of these valves for different places in my house. This is the easiest way to replace old valves on toilets, sinks, and ice makers. They're a quarter turn so are easy to turn on and off and seem to be extremely durable so I don't think I'll need to replace them for many years to come. If they need to be removed, they are very easy to remove and will not damage the pipe. I will be using them every time I need to replace a valve in my house from now on. How to replace these…

Batting 500, which is unimpressive in the sanitary area.

I bought three of these valves to replace old toilet shut-off valves with copper tubing. So far I've installed two, one of which worked. I'm not impressed. The first one I tried worked, the second leaked a little. And if they're leaking, unfortunately there's little you can do — you can't tighten them. So I had to take the leak out and replace it with a compression fitting shut-off, which in hindsight would have saved me time if I had done it first. And if you're in a tight space or have a…

A real revolution in sanitary technology!

I seem to be your typical recently converted fanatic: I'm finally convinced, thanks to the evidence gathered, to try these newfangled SharkBite connectors. and I'm shocked! Wow! I don't think I can add any technical insight to all that has already been written about these wonderful SharkBite connectors. But I'd like to share my opinion on this topic in general: It's very rare that a new product comes out that really revolutionizes an entire trade, an entire industry - but SharkBites certainly…

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • I am writing back

Works like a charm. My house has/had a one piece plastic water valve for sinks, toilets etc. Over the last year I have started replacing them with new valves and new plumbing lines. I used compression type angle valves and went to Revain to order some and saw SharkBite 1/2" angle stops for the copper lines we have. for today. So easy and no problem! I cut off the old valves with my dremel and used sandpaper to clean the copper pipe very well and then pushed the fitting down firmly in one motion

Pros
  • Works great for me
Cons
  • Updates available

Love them for Rough Plumbing

First of all I hate plumbing and after 20 years in an old house about 30 miles out of town where local dealers charge "a little more for a zip code" the only what is I hate worse than plumbing trying to find a plumber on short notice. I used Sharkbites in my kitchen remodel ten years ago and absolutely loved it. The compression valve under the bathroom sink failed 2 days ago, about a week after I just replaced the floor. I went to the local hardware store to buy another compression valve and…

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Crumpled

I love it. Everything in my house is old style.

I like these. I have all these old check valves in my house that have been stuck open from decades of hard water and there is about a 90% chance that they will leak or break if I try to close them. I tried replacing one and it was a real pain removing the old metal compression sleeve to install the new one. To use these Sharkbites all I had to do was cut off the old valve (and bushing) with a pipe cutter, polish 1 inch of the remaining pipe and put it on. That's all. And if I ever need to…

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Good product. on pipe fittings

I grew up the scion of a hardcore plumber. Learned at Mapp at the respectable age of 5 how to smelt brass fittings into copper. Running copper lines and angled compression stops while my dad napped in the truck. Have done it for years. Thank god for the energy of youth and deserving of cheeseburgers. I recently replaced the toilet and ordered a pair of these corner stops with a compression stop in my pocket just in case. I am impressed. Really impressed. I removed the old compression stop and…
