So easy to use my wife could do it.

I just converted my entire trailer from an old gray pipe to a white/red PEX B. I've used all the brass fittings with an IClamp swaging tool and there hasn't been a single broken part prior to this post. The best thing about PEX is that my little Thai wife was strong enough to cut and give me all the pieces so I never had to move. I will post more photos later. The resulting tube unrolled easily, but I didn't bend any of the corners because I used brass elbows. I would highly recommend the…

Good product, not as flexible as it seems.

nice product, not as flexible as advertised/shown (do it yourself stuff like DIY Holmes on Homes etc.) that's ok, it's not really meant to be flexible, and also makes it much more durable is easier to attach to materials and makes it slightly more difficult to deploy and maneuver. All in all it's still better and easier to work with than solid pipe etc. Stiffness issues with cutters, bows etc can be circumvented. Overall a great product at a great price when working with water pipes is by far…

Ideal for do-it-yourselfers!

I've never used PEX before but when trying to remodel my bathroom I decided it was definitely the way to go! This line flexes and moves to accommodate all your needs without worrying about connecting various unwanted "fittings". I ran this line through 3 different walls and did a total of 5 90 degree turns. It never bent, no buckles or anything! The added color allows for EASY repairs later if needed. Installation Note: Be sure to purchase the "SharkBite U701 PEX Tube Cutter" for a clean, easy…

I bought this for new construction. I used something similar to help someone in their new home and decided to give it a try. Most people suggested warming it up to make it easier to work with. I live in Texas and just left it out for about an hour and it was easy to use. After that I just used it and to be honest it was just as easy to use. In fact, it cuts more evenly when not heated and doesn't turn into a hard plastic at room temperature. Working with her may be uncomfortable, but it is not…

Straightening is not as difficult as some think

Quality as expected. Some have mentioned that it is difficult to unwrap the hose as it is stiff. I wouldn't do that in the attic. What I did was take it to my back yard and start unwinding and working, pulling the sections down my legs and pressing against the curved part of the pipe about 2 feet at a time of the section and it towards you bend - pull, get. curved section to top of leg, push down, pull another 2 feet and repeat. I managed to roll over and stand up about 100 feet. Not exactly…

Funny because I had a new countertop installed and...

I started using PEX on a kitchen renovation about 4 years ago. Weird because I had a new countertop installed and the sink didn't match the 1964 install. I was about to call a plumber because I had a drain line under my counter, hot water, cold water, and a dishwasher. then under the house in the basement was a copper pipe nightmare with a million bends (okay, maybe 20 or 30). I did some research and decided to use SharkBite and PEX to solve the problem. I just looked under the house last week…

SIMPLY RUN MY WHOLE HOUSE WITH PEX

Background: I discovered that the hot water line under my bathroom had a stove leak and upon further investigation I found a cold water leak under my entryway. In Ventura County, California we have hard water and my house on the property has gone cheap. It was built 30 years ago on copper foundation plates. The plastic sheath they used to isolate the copper from the concrete was very thin and subsequently collapsed as the pipes expanded and contracted under the heat. This led to severe…
