Beware of the first firmware update!

Warning. I bought it. Very easy to install. Connected to my Android and kicked out. And when I say I crashed, it froze all the layers on the bike, not just the wifi. I had to borrow a friends computer (because I only have a Mac), download software to reset everything. Try connecting to my Android again. The whole process over and over again. I. You cannot update the firmware on a wireless device from a PC like you can with Di2. Eventually (after reading other similar issues online) I downloaded

An interesting idea spoiled by bad software that can block your shirts.

Has to be one of the worst purchases I've ever made. on both iOS and Windows. It obviously hasn't gone through any UX design and appears to have been put together by someone who has never attempted to create user-friendly software. The E-TUBE app attempts to automatically update the firmware of your Di2 components upon first connection. Unfortunately this seems to be unsuccessful and locks up your system for many people including myself. The only recovery method is to use their Windows-only…

No problems installing and setting up

First of all, I work in engineering. Adding this unit to my di2 setup has not been a problem for me. My di2 setup has already been updated to the latest firmwares + I have the right battery to start with. Using an Apple iPad running the Shimano etubes app, I was able to connect to the device and verify that it worked with the rest of the bike. Password 000000 .
