it doesn't matter how it switches how it's supposed to

I had rotary switches, they suck. Replaced them with these Fire click switches, wow what a difference does that make, it switches like it should, much better and doesn't switch by itself, they also came with a good quality cable.

Very good combination as a replacement for rear derailleur

Most well-known manufacturers of children's bikes in sizes 20-24 always use a rear derailleur from Shimano, which is particularly difficult for children's hands to operate. I replaced it and the brake lever with this great combo, very quick to install and clean, easier and more convenient to use because they are positioned correctly.

Get Rid of Throttle TODAY!

SUPER shifter! I mean, you can't even begin to compare a throttle shifter to that! My MTB came from the factory with a "Gas" for the rear cassette, I hated it since I got it. change'. This EF500 is smooth, thumbs down, trigger up, smooth ratchets 1 gear at a time. I put it on in less than 20 minutes and COMPLETE! I can't believe I've suffered that throttle stick for so long!

Best shift/brake system!

I just keep looking better on my bikes, this is the best thing I have ever bought for my bike. I have a 29" 7 speed cruiser with 3" road slicks. I love the old school Ape Hanger handlebars, but the throttle grip that came with the bike didn't match the custom handlebars I got. This shift/brake lever system works beyond expectations, the switch is a dream, reminds me of those paddle shifters in race cars, one switch for upshifting and one for downshifting and you just press it without pressing…

Fits my '89 Gary Fisher Montare

I thought you couldn't use a newer Shimano spacing on an old Shimano bike - I read about that somewhere. Then I lost my salvaged 7-speed derailleur that I was going to replace with a broken one on my 1989 Montare because I couldn't get to it right away when my back hurt. So $20 for a new derailleur but it was pretty easy to install and needs some tweaking but seems to be working great with my old intervals. (Then, two days after installing it, I found my old 7x life-saving switch that had been…

Great value shifter replacement

I bought a SHIMANO ST-EF500-7R4A mountain bike shift/brake shifter to replace an old Shimano 2-stroke 7-speed derailleur that wasn't working. Removing the old one was easy. Remove the right handle. Use a 5mm allen wrench to loosen the clamp. Loosen the cable anchor bolt that secures to the rear derailleur and pull the cable out, leaving all the sheathing attached to the solder joints. Now put the new derailleur/brake assembly on, thread the wire through the housings, attach the wire to the rear

Pros
  • Very impressive
Cons
  • boring package
