Description of 🔪 Shun Premier Nakiri Knife, 5.5 Inch Tsuchime Blade with Walnut Wood Handle, TDM0742

Premier 5. 5-inch nakiri knife by shun. Featuring a thin blade perfect for cutting vegetables. Features layered damascus steel with a striking, hand-hammered finish (known as 'tsuchime' in japanese). Hand-hammered finish reduces drag when cutting, keeping foods from sticking to the knife blade. Premium pakkawood handle nestles comfortably into the curves of the palm and allows for a variety of comfortable and secure grips.

Shun Never Disappoints

Shun is my knife and I've never been disappointed. Nice and sharp out of the box. I cook A LOT and this keeps the edge, very comfortable and balanced. Perfect size for everyday sharpening. Mostly vegetables. A larger knife is better suited for meat etc. I would recommend everyone to keep the box it came in in case you need to return it to the company for any reason. Customer service is great, warranty is huge.

Bold & Beautiful for Asian knives

We already have a set of Shun knives, but they can't be compared to this one! Not only is it very sharp and easy to use, it's just a joy to look at. No, this is a true work of art. This knife has revived the joy of cooking that I haven't experienced in years. Cuts everything like butter (including meat, although I understand it's meant for veggies). This knife stayed sharper longer than other knives, although there were a few reasons for using it on a daily basis. We intend to buy more knives…

Likes it but not as sharp as my other Shun, dulls easily

I love this knife and can cut even better than my other Shun but like the other reviewer I didn't find the knife to be as sharp either seemed ready to go as I expected and not as spicy as my other chef Shun. I've had it for 3 years and only now it seems to need sharpening. So I docked a star for the public to know. This knife, while cutting better than Chef Shun, wasn't as sharp and even felt dull. I never knew how to sharpen knife on stone as a kid but I will do it now as an adult just for my…

I used to have a Shun Premier 7" Santoku and a 4" pair of knives and found that some vendors were selling some of their Shun Premier line so I expanded. I went back and forth with this particular knife, bought it or not, I'm a pretty serious carnivore so the idea of having a special paring knife was vague, especially as my santoku has an almost flat blade. I decided to bite the bullet when the very low price came out and I'm glad I did This thing is totally worth it because it slices veggies…

Anyone who cuts a lot of vegetables and fruit will love this knife.

Nakiri bōchō means paring knife. The Shun Premier Nakiri Knife is ideal for slicing, slicing and shredding vegetables. It's light so your hands don't get tired, but it's so sharp that the knife goes through without much pressure. The first time I used a knife was to cut carrots. After the first cut I stopped right away because the knife snapped through so easily I thought the carrot was soft - the knife is SO SHARP! And there was no knife rattle that I usually felt when using my Lamson chef's…

Spicy. Exactly what I needed.

Granted, this Shun Nakiri Damascus Layering Knife wasn't cheap by any means, but I don't have teeth of my own and needed something SHARP to cut veggies and other chews. This knife meets all requirements. It cuts the lettuce itself, which no knife I've owned could do without banging chunks off the cutting board. After using one of my daughters in South Carolina I had to buy one. This knife, with the help of a cleaver on a cutting board, finely chops rogaine leaves, cabbage and spinach, and…
