As such, there are no disadvantages, it is convenient to use.

I wanted to buy a good lens at an adequate price to replace the whale lens, I read a lot of forums, and settled on this sigma. I bought the first copy without testing, came home, started taking pictures, revealed a strong front focus, handed it over to the store, bought a second copy, the image quality turned out to be worse than on a whale lens, and a strong front focus. Nobody does the alignment in Hong Kong, so I had to return it, I checked the tamron 17-50, which is also a strong front…

Pros
  • aperture, excellent stub, good constructive, sharpness.
Cons
  • autofocus sometimes misses, many lenses for canon with front and back focus

I do not cease to rejoice at the purchase, a very good deal!

Very good value for money. Bought through the Internet, ie. could not check. However, so far no complaints about the quality of the lens! Its pros: Great! A clear picture over the entire range of focal lengths, quite tenacious focus, very good aperture, excellent focusing speed. Great stabilizer! Excellent workmanship and set. Even redundant equipment (wardrobe redundant). I enjoy the lens! Has cons: The focus ring rotates. You cannot focus manually without switching the AF / MF mode with a…

I was cheated! Product does not correspond to the description at all.

I bought this lens. I checked it in the store for back / front - everything was more or less here, it went to the front quite a bit, but not noticeably. distortion at 17mm is hard to 35mm, and at 50 we have a small pillow, but not strong. The vignette at 17mm is strong, at 40mm it goes almost. limp terribly on bright pictures during the day, you can see without looking closely. Well, that's okay . the most unpleasant thing was that it washed the edges on all focal lengths, and it was…

Pros
  • It shoots better than a whale 18-55. Good fast autofocus. Looks solid. Hood and case included.
Cons
  • Strong distortion Severely chromate Soapy edges Vignette The stabilizer is not working In the off state, something dangles there and makes noise inside when shaking.

The product is of poor quality, I don't recommend it.

Bought, coveted by some reviews, cost and aperture ratio. Regretted. Very sorry! The lens is completely out of alignment! The worst in accuracy among the available relatives (even very budget ones). When buying tested on the table. Everything was OK. But only then I saw how autofocus messes up, depending not only on the distance to the subject, but also on focal lengths! At 50 mm there is a very noticeable back, at 17 - the front. It hits only in the region of 35 mm . that is, the factory does…

Pros
  • Price, decent-solid appearance, strong and solid (as it seemed at first)
Cons

The best purchase in my life, I will definitely buy it again.

I bought it on the d7000, it became like a native, I replaced the nikkor 35 / 1.8, I like everything, only the hood disappointed me, it tries to come off, some kind of flimsy. There are lenses: Zenitar fishey 16 / 2.8, sigma 55-200 / 3.5-5.6, nikkor 35 / 1.8, after that I don’t want to put any of them. On the crop, the focal lengths will just be in the region of 24-75. As for the working FR at 2.8, I won’t say anything yet. But first impressions are great.

Pros
  • Fast, sharp, HA didn’t notice, doesn’t wash, no misses, heavy (plus for me, fast AF, constant aperture.
Cons
  • The lens hood almost does not hold at all, expensive filters

Revainrating 2 out of 5

I'm a little disappointed, not a good buy.

I didn't really like this lens. There are several reasons. The first one catches hares very much both day and night. The second - the colors are somehow faded, and there is no way to draw them out. Boring drawing - bokeh looks like a gaussian blur. For a staffer - a very heavy lens with a hefty front glass. Constantly trying to get something on him. But it does look "professional". Well, to all that has been said - on my carcass, he demanded adjustment, after which there were no problems with…

Pros
  • Build quality, package. The lens is very sharp
Cons
  • Catching hares, faded colors and wadded bokeh

Nice product, happy with my purchase and may buy again.

Took for Canon 60d. Once I took a SLR with a whale lens, I immediately felt the difference. In general, I am satisfied, but I am thinking of taking an Elka. Has some pros - constant aperture over the entire range of focal lengths (aperture 2.8) - for which I took - cheaper than analogues - quite sharp, quickly focuses, the first copy was without front and back focus - lens hood included Has some cons - subjectively - the color reproduction is not the best (it's not about "yellowness", which…

A really necessary purchase, I'm glad I found this product.

After reading reviews about the back and front focus on this lens, I did not immediately purchase it, since there was no place to try it. As a result, having bought an Elka at 17-40, I was disappointed! lubrication is constant, the picture is sluggish, there is no stub and when the picture is approaching it is easy to smear, spat went bought a new one, even without trying it on, as a result, everything is in order with the focus, sharpness and juiciness only pleases, and even for that kind of…

Pros
  • Excellent. Juicy and sharp picture, focuses quickly, no worse than Elka 17-40, stub. very good, does not smear! perfectly assembled, complete with lens hood and case, the price is two times lower than the canon counterpart!
Cons
  • lenses slightly rattle in the lens! when autofocusing, you often pinch the focus ring with your fingers because of this, it stops and stops focusing, you have to keep your fingers closer to the camera!

The product is average, Im not sure its worth the money.

I read the comments and I don’t understand, maybe I have such a copy? Clear focus only works when the light is perfect. In twilight constantly "prowls". Often misses. in 2 out of 10 photos. The picture quality is not impressive. The white balance is often inaccurate. Detail fit is poor. Dust gets inside. I didn't think that the protrusion of the trunk was a problem. Now I know it. I read a lot about this lens before buying. According to tests and reviews, it is not much inferior to its…

Pros
  • Price, sharpness at 2.8.
Cons
  • The quality of the materials used. Assembly. Chromatitis.

Revainrating 2 out of 5

The product does not match the description, poor quality.

It is definitely not worthy of the EX marking, and it is hardly worth its money. It’s definitely not worth taking as a replacement for the Canon 18-55 IS kit, it’s just giving money for a larger and heavier lens with virtually no gain in quality or ease of use. In this situation, it is better to spend money on an Elco zoom or buy a fixed focal lens for the price of this sigma.

Pros
  • Quite working 2.8, constant at all focal lengths.
Cons
  • - Traditional "Sigma aftofokus". I bought it mainly for the wide end (because there is a fix of 35), and so, most often there are problems with autofocus at wide angle and infinity (landscapes). Out of 10, 2-3 times he won’t be able to focus at all and 2-3 more times he will say that he has focused, but he will miss a little, and vilely - so that it’s not very noticeable on the camera screen. - The stabilizer often turns out to be harmful: if it is turned on, when there is enough light, it blurs the picture. In addition, when carrying the lens, something rattles inside (apparently, the lenses of the stub). - Pretty bulky.

Revainrating 4 out of 5

I am not disappointed, the quality is satisfying.

I share my impressions after the warranty adjustment. The result has become noticeably better, misses happen, but mostly in poor lighting. It is advised to align with the carcass for best results. I compared the picture with 50mm / 1.8 stm - the fix at 2,8 is noticeably sharper, but it loses in the speed of the focusing motor and the lack of a stabilizer. I think that this Sigma is a good option for the price and picture quality, the main thing is to choose the exact copy.

Pros
  • 1. Constant aperture. At 2.8 sharp in the center, from f4.0 and above - the sharpness is already much better. 2. Fast autofocus performance 3. Convenient fr, allow you to shoot from landscape to portrait, while if you take it as the first lens, it will be easier to understand in the future which focal lengths you need. 4. The stabilizer helps a lot in low light conditions 5. A solid picture at the output, although it is a little "warm" 6. From the aesthetic side - the glass on the carcass looks solid and does not seem like a plug, unlike a whale 7. Price / quality: We look at the price of the original 17-55 f2.8 from Canon and compare with the Sigma. There are no comments here.
Cons
  • 1. The accuracy of the autofocus out of the box. I strongly recommend testing before buying on a special target. My copy was with a terrible back focus on the short end (judging by the reviews, I don’t have one). I gave it for adjustment under warranty - everything was done in 2 weeks, now the focus hits the target much more accurately. 2. Short travel of the focus ring. In my opinion, because of this, it is quite difficult to accurately focus 3. It is impossible to bring the focus manually until you switch the toggle switch to MF 4. Service, or rather its absence. Officials do alignment only in Hong Kong 5. The lenses inside the lens rumble a little, but these are trifles.

Nothing special, there are positive and negative sides.

This is my third Sigma (after 50 / 1.4 and 18-200) and this is what I understood: you want tenacious autofocus, good color reproduction, working holes starting from 2.8 . don't buy Sigma, take your own optics. Later I bought Canon 16-35, I remember this Sigma as a bad dream. People don't be cheap! Some pros: Cheaper than the Canon equivalent. Convenient case, hood included. Has some cons Not tenacious autofocus, so-so bokeh (compared to Sigma 50 / 1.4). Trunk backlash after six months. Working…

I like it, thanks for the quality product.

I bought this glass quite recently, but already, I think, it is worth drawing a conclusion about it. I am engaged in reportage and portrait photography, I took a lens for the main, to replace the Tamron 28-75, with which I compared it. Sigma FR covers 70% of my tasks, but, unfortunately, it upset me a lot in portraits, it is too focused. At 2.8, you can sit down, shoot a cat with a little bokeh, then stand up and take a sharp landscape photo. there is no blur. Also, I want to comment on some of

Pros
  • - Aperture - Focus speed - good stabilizer - Sharpness (compared to what I used)
Cons
  • - Noticeable fragility (as for the "prof. series") - Frequent misses in focus - Aberrations and barrel (distortion) - Focus free - EF-S

Revainrating 3 out of 5

A little bit not what I expected, generally fine.

When buying, I immediately specified the possibility of a return, tk. there is a lot of information on the net that each lens needs to be checked for front / back focus. The store itself does not do this. When testing, a large back focus was revealed at the short end - the focusing plane simply did not fall into the depth of field ! At 50mm, this problem was not observed. Those. when buying a zoom, in fact I received only a working fifty dollars. Finally made a return. It's a shame, because I…

Pros
  • Fast lens with a working open aperture, sharp from 2.8 to 16. Appearance and build quality.
Cons
  • The presence of a large back focus at a wide angle. Small stroke of the focusing ring.

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The product is okay, it's not a waste of money!

I tested this model for a long time, in different shooting conditions, both in the photo and in the video. Good for video, not so good for photos. In my personal opinion, sigma will not jump above its head. Its pros: The picture gives a good one, draws bokeh is also interesting. Light, and the jump between the minimum and maximum focal lengths is not even very visible. In general, as a budget option between the plastic KIT and L options, it will do. Cons below: Long autofocus, compared to any…

You should not take it, it does not meet any standards.

I tried to buy such a lens, I tested several options when buying, and oddly enough, I liked the sigma according to the drawing as a 50mm portrait lens, it focused quickly and clearly on close objects, but when I tried to shoot something at 17mm, it turned out to focus completely, or rather it focused, but it didn’t hit anywhere (there was no sharpness throughout the frame), even gradually tightening the aperture to 11, the sharpness did not appear . with all this, it was sharp on the target…

Cool product, happy with the purchase, maybe I'll buy it again.

A good alternative to the native (which is 2 times more expensive) lens. Aperture 2.8 already allows you to shoot more or less interesting portraits. An adequate version of the standard crop lens. Has some pros Aperture (aperture 2.8 - working), good design. Versatility of focal lengths. Good working stabilizer. For April 2022 adequate price. Different cons: Average in speed AF, which also misses quite often. Yellow. Buying a lens without front / back focus is a great success. The stub is…

Everything is fine, there are only minor drawbacks.

Bought for another 24t. R which he certainly does not deserve, its price is 12-14. Now, of course, I would take Sigma 30mm 1.4. In general, the glass is not bad but no more. The 2.8 hole is quite working at 17-25mm, but at 50mm the focus very often goes to infinity and very important shots are lost at the wedding. There is a front focus and it depends on the focal length. Misses of 20 percent. The colors are not bad, but in difficult lighting conditions, the BB is frankly lying, maybe it's…

Pros
  • Aperture. Stabilizer. Now price Having 550D, I shot more than tens of thousands of photos with this glass (mainly weddings). Processing a good result in lightroom, the customer is satisfied. But.
Cons
  • chromate? - yes! vignette? - Yes! misses? - Yes! front focus? - Yes! soapy? - at the edges of the frame up to 4.0 yes!

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Good value for money, I recommend.

In general, the lens is not bad. Interesting drawing, sharp, light. Perhaps one of the best staff for crop cameras. But you need to handle it very carefully - I staggered mine with a small fall of the camera from a height of about 30 cm - the trunk warped (one of the 3 mounts tore out and the plastic of the trunk burst) after 3 years of use, the stabilizer refused after 3 years of use (he, as it turned out, does not like shaking at all and even more falling) Well, my personal quibble is that…

Pros
  • Good fast zoom. At 50mm, interesting bokeh, although not in the trash. The stabilizer is not bad at all
Cons
  • very weak trunk - plastic breaks with a small impact. There is no "twisting" focus with autofocus. Moderately works in backlight

Feel free to buy, for such a price, the quality is simply amazing.

I took a new one. For a long time I thought about leaving or returning it (while it was legal 2 weeks), firstly, it was unusual to use a non-Canon lens, and secondly, autofocus behaved rather strangely. But after numerous tests, I decided to leave it anyway. Basically no regrets. The lens perfectly shoots portraits, landscapes, and also showed itself perfectly when working in the studio. Aperture, autofocus speed and stabilizer allow you to shoot a fast-moving, restless 2-year-old child with a

Pros
  • 1. Working at all focal apertures 2.8. 2. High quality workmanship. 3. Rich equipment. 4. Adequate price for such characteristics. 5. Convenient focal lengths. 6. Looks impressive. 7. Fast autofocus. 8. Quite sharp even wide open. 9. Pleasant bokeh. 10. Made in Japan (not an indicator, but nice). 11. Pretty good stabilizer.
Cons
  • 1. A little chromate and vignetting, but not critical. 2. As already mentioned, the focus ring turns easily in manual mode. 3. In the off state, the stabilizer block clanks inside, not a fatal flaw, but annoying from time to time. 4. Specifically, on my lens, the focus periodically smears on different values depending on the focal length. I'm planning on getting it adjusted. 5. On the street, it drains the battery faster than other lenses, there were no such problems in the studio.
