You get what you pay for. Cheap cables that wear out easily and metal grommets are a joke. They look like they're made out of foil. I suggest going up a few grades. Pay a little more and get better cables.

The Singker Wiring Kit + Wiring Accessory is very handy for any repair. Cable ends are fitted with ferrules to prevent wear when refilling. The switch cables have a standard shape. But the brake cables are mushroom shaped, road bike style. Not sure if I can use it on my mountain bikes where the brake cables are candy shaped.
