It only took a few minutes to install. Glad to know I have a place to buy replacements for my other sliders. It was nice that it came with different length screws and even different length locking mechanisms depending on what you originally had. I had some leftover parts, but it's better than not having the right parts from the start.

Milgard's design, which does not pre-screw the outside handle, often results in stripping of the threads over time. This set is original. This set had everything I needed. I particularly liked the screw selection by length - other sets I've seen are more expensive and only fit certain door thicknesses. This kit is suitable for doors of any thickness. Very important.

The product arrived in good condition, however it has the same problem as the pen I replaced. One of the screws is too long, so the handle is loose. Like the old one, it will likely break prematurely over time. I'm going to Home Depot to see if I can fix the propeller problem. There may be a door mismatch problem, not with this product. Overall, the product arrived as advertised and in good condition, but the original manufacturer seems to have an inherent design issue.

I bought the same part 5 years ago and the handle that came with it was an exact replacement for a 2005 Milgard sliding door. This time (2021 ) NO pen arrived. Doesn't fit - round not square, much lighter/thinner material, much narrower attachment to the door - it means it doesn't flex well. Overall it feels and looks good. Not 5 stars though as you have to drill holes in the handle or risk ruining the screws or even the handle. There's no way it's going to last long if you just plug it in like that and let the screw threads tap the handle for you. And why try so hard to force it to lower at the risk of piercing the glass or any part of the door. Use a 4mm x 0.7 tap to accomplish this and the supplied screws go in with no resistance. This will most likely solve the durability issue
