They are ideal to allow you to take advantage of the look of the screw without the risk of the screw losing grip or you 'mangled' the project " need nut and washers. Back. Keeps the project clean while allowing other build options. Great find!

Featured product

They can be used with any type of wood, soft or hard, and do the job perfectly. They are well designed and none of the ones I received had any flaws so it was a worthwhile purchase. Mine went into a closet project I've been working on for quite some time and I have complete confidence in them. 4 stars. *Thank you for taking the time to read my review and if it in any way helped you make an informed decision about this product, please let me know by taking a moment to rate it. good stainless steel insert

They are stainless steel although the photo shows brass. But by the time you read this review, that might have changed. as always ;) More importantly, these are very high quality threaded inserts. Put some wax on it so it can be easily removed after sitting down. I also have a paste tool that works great when you're…

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Large and bulky

These excellent thread inserts can be used in both softwood and hardwood. The threads are very sharp and after drilling a 25/64" diameter hole (or 13/32" in hardwood) it's easy to insert with a standard screwdriver. They are made from high quality stainless steel and can be used outdoors with better results than the brass or galvanized steel inserts I usually use. Note that they are .45" in diameter, which is larger than the .375" in diameter of the similar 1/4-10" threaded inserts. Therefore…

Threaded insert 1/4 20 for wood.

I had a cabinet project where I wanted to be able to add and remove a front panel without damaging it. I was thinking about how to do this, when I stumbled across them I ordered them. Here's what I found: 1. I didn't have 25/64 bits so I had to go and buy one. I could probably use another one but I wanted these to fit and work all the time so I invested in bit.2. I used my drill press to make the perfect hole and then added a threaded element to each hole. I used a cabinet screwdriver and they…
