Stant 10811 Fuel Cap Review

Fits like a glove, I'm shocked! It's difficult to find good replacement parts for classic cars, and if you do, stock up on products.

My brother lit up this old jeep because apparently he had enemies. I didn't need a plug so I bought this one. Looks original and works as intended.

Replaced old gas seal cap with this one, fits perfectly and is easy to close and open. Once they start making the extra effort to open and close them, bite the bullet and buy a new one, the little handle will eventually snap or break apart like the previous gas caps for my old Jeep Wrangler YJ.

We do smog checks here every two years and the fuel cap check is part of the old car check. The rubber seal lasts 2 years. So I end up buying one every 2 years because of a dry cracked rubber seal. Maybe the ethanol mix destroys them? I think the Stant is at least as good as any of them, but be prepared to replace it in a few years.

It seemed very solid at first but the plastic handle broke in just a few months. I could understand that if it were a few years old, but it's about a year old and the jeep is only used every few weekends. If I cut out a new handle and find material to cut a gasket out of, everything will be fine, but wow. At least it doesn't (yet) leak like the old cap.
