Four clicks is the magic number

My Frontier has crashed with the dreaded engine code P0442. This code is caused by a small leak in the evaporative emission system. This continued, so I bought this new gas cap in hopes of solving the problem. At first it didn't happen, and I drove the truck for a week staring at the "Check Engine" light. I was willing to smoke out the system to diagnose the problem. But then I read the instructions on the cap that said it should be tightened with four clicks. I did this and the code is gone…

Just what I needed best in caps

Recently my check engine light came on and when I changed the oil they said it was some kind of vacuum or something. But the thing is, they said it was most likely the gas cap. I replaced it with this one and now the light is off. What a great price for a check engine light solution! Yes, and although it doesn't have a cord like the factory cord, I just removed the cord from the old one and drilled a hole in the lid that was about the same size. Make the hole as small as possible so the cord is

Fixed my check engine light and annoying fuel cap message on the odometer

Check engine light was on, our 2007 Chrysler City and Country had something in the code about a small evaporator leak. The diagnosis for this was to go to the dealer and inject smoke to find the leak, yes that's right. I ignored it as it worked fine and after 1.5 years the GAS CAP message appeared on the odometer. Well, that message is pretty obvious, so why not start with it! I bought this as I buy almost everything from Revain to save travel time. The next day, AFTER the cap was replaced…

Just what I needed, the best in gas caps

SOLVED MY "CHECK ENGINE " LIGHT

This turned out to be the solution to my problem. The U480 diagnostic scanner I just bought pointed out my reason for "checking the engine" and all it turned out was my old gas cap. I don't know how much money this saved me compared to going to the dealer or store, but I'm sure it was a lot of money. After putting on this new hat, I turned off the light and everything is fine now. I might add, apply a light coat of lube to both cap o-rings and a light coat to the contact points inside the fuel…

  • Easy to read control panel

  • Something else

I should have had this a long time ago!

Shortly after receiving my Jeep Liberty the check engine light came on and I had to pay $100 to the service department. To tell me nothing was wrong but I have to send it back if it happens again. Well, it kept happening. Luckily, before I spent another dime, my dad (also a Liberty owner) told me about the infamous gas cap problem that was causing the check engine light to come on. time and will definitely not go out again. I finally ordered a Stant gas cap after some research on the internet…

Pros
  • Satisfied so far

  • Negative gift

Perfect fit for my 2006 ML350

Recently the check engine light came on on my 2006 ML350. I'm totally freaked out! After I calmed down, I went to the local auto zone to have them pull out the code. They laughed at me, said I didn't tighten the gas cap the last time I filled up, erased the code and sent me on. A day later the light came on again. After some Googling I figured my 6 year old gas cap that had been exposed to the Arizona sun might have failed so I ordered one from Revain. After all, a new fuel cap is the cheapest…
