4.5 stars! good for tire repair tools

Just mark this under 5 because it's a plagiarism for what it is. However, it worked! I liked the split die setup, I had the threads cut at the end of my tow link and I filed it first to round it back up then put it on top of the good threads and pushed them back to rethread. I did that a few times and then the nut was gone immediately.

Cons

it more or less worked

Bought this to clean the threads on my camper van eyelets well enough. The nuts were loosened for the first time. The tool cleaned them well enough to improve the nut fit. I love the two piece unit and the fact that you can use a standard 1" head to power it. Too bad I didn't get the standard matrix. But the tool helped. So I'm fine.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Pretty ok

Worth every penny for tools and equipment

This was a great addition to the tool kit and after this experience I will be buying the whole set. I was worried that I might not end up getting a normal hex. With this thing I got up the back and cleaned the threads. To replace the studs I had to pull the axle. But not with this tool! Use oil to make cutting easier. Clean the die during the process.

Wow. I didn't expect too much, but I'm very satisfied. Excellent Threader

Had to tap a few threads on the wheel studs on my Dodge 2500 and obviously couldn't get the typical "push and bang" on them. Found this and tried it. Wow! Before that I couldn't unscrew the nut because of cross-threading through the tire changer, but after a little manual work (a 35mm deep head later came to light) everything fitted like clockwork. I keep these and a matching 35mm deep socket in my truck's tool box so they're always available. Very high is my best achievement for such a simple…

Maybe it's my fault

I'm pretty sure my screw is the right size. Pitch 12mm x 1.5. I measured it with calipers and compared it to the information in the machine manual. However, I did not use a pitch or screw gauge. I might be a little crazy. . but I highly doubt it. If it was the right size, it didn't fit right. Even with good threads, I was unable to get the steps to line up. I couldn't use it. However, if you need to attach threads to an expensive part and know exactly what diameter and thread pitch you have, I…

Did the job of smoothing out my striped nuts.

Using a socket wrench didn't hold it tight enough around the tip but allowed it to expand a bit. I used pliers with a vise on the side to grip them tightly to get a good cut. use some oil. My teenagers changed my studded tires and screwed in some of the lugs with an impact wrench. I've seen others have a rubber band around them in the slot. Little did I know it would keep falling to the ground while trying to position her. After the first no problem. First you need to remove the wheel to get at

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers

  • Operating Speed

This 2 part matrix saved my ass

This stamp saved my ass. I realized too late that the threaded shaft is 1/2-20 and not 1/2-13, until I screwed a few turns of transverse thread onto my boat's steering gear. Luckily there were still a few intact threads, but not at the end of the shaft. How could I know where to start rewiring to match the undamaged thread. This two-piece rethreading die solves this problem because you can open the die and position where the threads are good and use the die from that point on the shaft so the…
