Sketchy unchanged

Photo 1 shows how it works. Simply screw the rack to the wire mesh. The compression keeps it in place. After doing all four and adding the bikes it was very shaky and didn't feel secure at all. When I was about to shoot them, I unscrewed the nuts and the racks just fell off. Not good! Photo 2 shows the modification I made. I went to Home Depot and bought a 4 foot piece of 1/8 inch flat steel, about $15. Drilled some holes and bought HDG 3/8 x 1.5 inch bolts, nuts and washers. After everything…

Didn't work for me in car racks and luggage racks

big and heavy e-bike. The bike weighs over 50 pounds without the battery. It's a little hard. The bike was too big for the trunk and so were these bike adapters. I could probably put something together to make it more secure, but with our expensive e-bike we didn't feel it was reliable enough to carry with these bike adapters. I was able to fit it to the mount with some modifications, but it just wasn't strong enough for our heavy bike. The product seems solid, but it didn't work well in our…

good bike tire stay

This is a pretty decent bike tire stay. It works by adding crayons to any open frame hitch holder. I have a 60 inch trunk and wanted to use it for my extremely heavy electric bikes. The crayons attach to the holder with two screws and that's it. The frame is a metal tube about 1.4 inches in diameter bent into an oval hoop shape. My stretcher is more than able to take the weight, but the crayons aren't as strong as I had hoped. I clamp my bike tires into the cart and then use the weight straps…

Read the FULL review in Car Racks and Holders

What I liked: The product is strong enough to carry the heaviest bikes. It is very easy to install. The finish (varnish) is scratch, rain and impact resistant without chipping or rusting. Dislikes: I would rate the product's durability much higher if the hardware (washers) were actually useful. Step One: Throw away the useless. inch washers which they ship as a set. They bend easily and are useless. The washers will stretch the expanded metal and leave your bikes upside down on the freeway…

Pros
  • Only fits Cargo Caddy CC-10
Cons
  • Security

Good alternative to the standard bike rack.

I bought both the CC100 Cargo Caddy and CC125 bike rack as a set so I can carry my bikes in the back of the motorhome. Therefore, this review focuses on combined components. The CC100 Cargo Caddy is a bit flimsy and you need to be careful when tightening the nuts as you can damage the tubes if you over tighten them. But it'll hold 500 pounds, so it's strong enough when it's all bolted together. The only real downside is that the design allows for a lot of right-to-left movement when on the…

Pros
  • For tires up to 2.25 inches wide.
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
