Yup, they really are waterproof. An affordable alternative to having a separate pair of Goretex hiking boots for rainy days. They seem to have a waterproof membrane (which I'm assuming is something like Goretex) between the inner and outer layers, and it works. I use these for sand volleyball and wear them under my sand volleyball socks as sometimes the sand is very wet. They work very well in keeping my feet dry. When I take them off, the outside of them seems wet but they keep my feet dry and don't let the water in. Good product for what I'm using them for. Not sure if they would work if you actually put them in water.

These were a lifesaver for our summer trip to rainy Ireland. Everything else was soaked but my feet. Super thin so your shoes don't feel especially tight. Washing machine friendly, but er air dried just in case.
