ease of cutting in my review

I have to honest, these were purchased accidentally. When I got them I decided to give them a try. They simply did not cut as easily as brands I have bought in past. It seems the old saying is true, you get what you pay for. These were cheaper but just didn't measure up to the competition. If you are cutting small branches (under 3") then they would do but anything large, get better quality.

Pros
  • works like they should
Cons
  • The blades are not suitable for cutting through metal, limiting their versatility

Do not feel sharp for my opinion

I just received the blades and have not had a chance to use one yet. The requests to rate products purchased through Best Buy many times come too fast before there has been an opportunity to use the product. The only observation I have so far is that the points on the blade do not feel sharp. I have used pruning blades and the points on those were much sharper. If after using the blade to see how well it cuts and lasts I will provide a better review and rating.

Pros
  • These are some heavy duty cutting blades for some serious tree limbs.
Cons
  • The blades may produce a rough cut, requiring additional sanding or finishing work

Good rough long blades

I have been cutting mesquite trees with this around our house. They are very long, so you can cut thick branches with it. The blades are prone to binding or getting stuck when used on thicker branches or logs!

Pros
  • Worked as well as much more expensive blades. Very pleased
Cons
  • The blades are prone to binding or getting stuck when used on thicker branches or logs

Used the same blade on branches all day, its still good.

I was pruning branches all around my house from over grown Oak trees. No fun. Poll saw from the tree and used this blade to cut them to size in a reciprocal saw. I'm still using the same blade.Great saw blade.

Pros
  • Nothing to dislike, Good quality blades, they do smoke, but cut the wood, great price.
Cons
  • The blades are prone to bending or breaking if used on harder woods, such as oak or maple

Excellent performance

These work very well for pruning limbs. I have even cut down oak saplings as large as 6" in diameter. Still on my first blade. It seems to stay sharp regardless of what I've used it on.

Pros
  • Didn't last a long as I would have liked
Cons
  • The teeth on the blades wear down unevenly, causing the blade to become dull and ineffective

Stump removal: my feedback

I the saw blades to sever the roots around a tree stump. Because the blades were running below the surface, they wore out pretty quickly -- these blades were perfect for the job because they cut well and were cheap enough to toss when they got dull. I used about 6-7 blades before finishing the job. For smaller roots, I used an ax, but the 12" length was great for the larger roots.

Pros
  • strong cutting blade with less wobble
Cons
  • The blades' 5TPI design may not be optimal for certain types of wood, leading to uneven cuts and splintering
