It was worth every penny. My blue and gold macaw is a large rodent and can destroy any toy in a few days unless it's made of manzanita wood. This toy was big enough and the wood hard enough that she couldn't chew it all the way into toothpick-sized pieces. She's had it for about a month now and there are still wooden blocks on it!

This is dangerous! It has a very small eyebolt that holds a piece of wood to the chain (actually it doesn't). It's not big enough to get the job done and stays open when the entire main block of wood slides out. I heard it hit the bottom of the cage and was able to remove it before my macaw got hurt, but someone else might not be so lucky. Please stop selling this item.

This is a well-designed toy. The blocks of wood were just the right size for my bird to chew on his heart. The chain holds everything together. Unlike some toys that are held together with a rope that can be chewed immediately, the toy will break down prematurely. It took my chewer a few months to go through this toy and I will be buying again. Sure, it's not the cheapest, but you get what you pay for.

The chain holding the blocks together is too thin for a large macaw. My green wing was able to separate the links of the chain and one of them got stuck in its beak. It looked like it had a pierced beak when it bit into it. An emergency trip to the vet and a $200 bill late, he was fine. Also, it's probably a great toy if you have a bird that doesn't have that much beak strength. If not, I would rate it 5 stars.

The toy is missing an entire chain of blocks. Since I paid $43 I decided to replace it. I know my macaw will chew it up into toothpicks in a day or so, but I buy cheap baby blocks to replace the wood and use the same chain. It's not as big as in the photo.
