Excellent product for hard-to-flash installations

I had a very difficult task of modernizing windows in a brick house. Liquid impregnation was the only way to make every window perfectly watertight. It's messy, but stay flexible and robust.

Pros
  • Trial period for one year
Cons
  • Speed

GET THE SAUSAGE TUBE!

Do me a favor and buy a sausage tube. The firmware is great, but this stuff will leak out the back of the tube and make a huge mess when changing tubes. I switched this product to the sausage version and am very happy with it. No mess, no headache, no waste.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Repair

Shine and Forget: Building Materials

This material fills in gaps, including wood fibers. To me it's way better than flashing with tape and roller. This system relies on the back of the tape to do the work, but it can only penetrate to a certain limit. i love this stuff Just remember it's 30 ounces so you need a gun that can hold it.

Pros
  • Excellent General Properties
Cons
  • Degraded

some tubes were semi hardened

10 tubes used in nail holes on all my sidewalls and roof. No problem. I bought 4 tubes and let them sit for 3 months before using them and out of 4 tubes 3 were half cured. I had to cut off the tip and use a colored pencil to get what I could. DO NOT BUY UNTIL YOU INTEND TO USE!

Pros
  • Nice to use
Cons
  • Safety

Cut off the top more!

I love the zip system and am even a fan of liquid flashes but I bought a brand new high quality gun to apply this product and the very first tube sprayed more from the back than through the tip. Needless to say, my new weapon was damaged. I recommend trimming the tip to create a much larger hole for the product to come out of. After that I saw no more problems. (I wish I could buy sausage rolls)

Pros
  • Long lasting finish
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product

This material is very easy to use!

Just installed a 5/8 inch zippered trim strip on an outhouse on our property. Used zip system tape on all seams according to directions. plug well below the coated skin surface. This is difficult to accomplish with the Southern Yellow Pine nail gun. Rather than proudly raising the nails, I adjusted the gun so they were driven in too hard to go below the surface. Zip says it's good if you don't lose about a third of the panel's thickness Since it would be weeks before I put a metal roof in, I…

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

Fantastic air and water sealing and window sill protection!

We used this product to seal a new house and watertight window sills. There are many areas that are very difficult to mask off but are too exposed for the spray foam to last long. Our solution was to use pipes from this throughout the house. We also used this on all the window sills which worked well as we had a window that was broken in transit and taped up when installed. During a rain shower, water got onto the tape and sat on the windowsill for 2 days before it was wiped off. No water has…

Pros
  • Great Construction
Cons
  • Wrinkled Packaging
