This is a very handy test kit that will accurately test everything except nitrate. Specifically, it tests nitrite, chlorine, hardness, pH, and alkalinity, and the results seem accurate compared to other brands' test results. I was suspicious of my nitrate test results and tested tap water, Brita filtered water and Aquafina bottled water. The nitrate results were off the chart for all samples.
