Non-shop tools: bike tools and maintenance

They are light and thin. They pack right into the repair kit under the seat like they're invisible. They work, but flimsy handles cut your hands when installing a link. That hurts. It doesn't hurt so bad you'll ever regret packing it. Definitely NOT a shop tool. Only for emergencies on the go.

Difficult to use: bike tools and maintenance

I found it very difficult to fit the new Shimano 11 speed quick release link to the new Shimano Ultegra chain with these pliers. I couldn't try hard enough to block the quicklink. I ended up having to pedal, hold the brakes, and push on the chain. I haven't tried removing the quick connect to see how these pliers work, I expect it won't be easy.

  • Sturdy construction

A good pocket tool is good for cycling

Good bag for riding, quality workmanship, good weight. - Handy if the chain fails - I found the loop to have some slack - this seems to compensate for the use of different sized quick chain links that can be stored in the tool's handle. The links I used (KMC SL X11) had a tendency to fall out of the tool handle so I put a piece of tape inside the handle to hold the links in place and this has the added benefit of the tool loop remains loose to minimize. Overall good tool.

  • A lot of positive emotions

They work well and are compact, but the price!

After using SRAM PowerLink connectors in my PC-1 and PC-8 circuits for over a decade, I finally found what I needed. My son's new 10 speed bike had a KMC MissingLink connector (their copy of SRAM PowerLink) that I couldn't manually disconnect. Oumur's Master Link comes to the rescue! I couldn't resist their bargain price and decent reviews. But I also realized that I needed something along the way, and this compact tool from Wolf Tooth seemed like a good choice, price aside. So it was nice to…

Nice but expected a little better fit and finish

This was a treat bought with a gift card. A few wolf tooth pieces I saw looked pretty good and functional so it was an easy decision. When it arrived I was expecting it to be packaged a little more neatly than it was but I chalked it up to having more function than form and that's what I expect from a cycling outfit. I bought it mainly for quick release pliers and link storage functions. Functionally, it basically works as described. The pliers worked great, slightly better than the pair of…
