But it works. good for sports

Discreet light, good illumination, easy to use and assemble, BUT there is only one fastening screw. I ended up buying a second one at my local bike shop, but why would I?!?! Someone asked why you need a second screw? Well, to change the battery you need to hold down the bottom tab and then push the entire assembly to the left with considerable force due to the rubber pad. This causes the entire lantern to rotate either up or down (wherever you decide to screw). The problem is solved now that I…

So I was disappointed with the taillights

Husband bought this lamp and it worked perfectly for 2 weeks. Then he bought me one through Revain. The first had a fault in the spring on the button, so the light couldn't be turned on or off without pushing it with a screwdriver or something. The second turns on and off randomly. We actually had to swap the batteries in it when he was packing it to send it back because it was blinking in the box. Third, the batteries that came with it were dead and I had to use my own batteries to get it…

Permanent install only - can't take it with me

I have a Topeak rack and thought it could use the clip I used with the RedLite II. However, it is not possible to use the clip-on attachment with this lamp. The only option is to bolt it directly to the bracket that goes to the bar or seatpost. I live in an area where if I leave something on my bike it won't be there in a few minutes so this was a deal breaker for me. I need to be able to take a flashlight with me when I lock myself in, which is not possible with this flashlight. Edit: It's…

Not impressive, look elsewhere for a good tail light

I bought this because my last tail light (Planet Bike) went out on a big bump. I ride a lot at night - exercise and fun - and I try to be as visible as possible, ie. Headlight, rear light, reflectors, LED light on the front wheel. I have a Topeak travel rack on my bike so I ordered it after reading many positive reviews on here about the strength and brightness of this light. Compared to many other taillights in the same price range ($20+/-) I find this VERY AMAZING because 1. Visibility - all…

Great option for shelves!

After upgrading my bike with a Topeak rack I found that my taillights were not compatible or did not match the rack so I had to purchase a custom Topeak light. After looking at what was available and compatible with my rack, I settled on the Redlight Aura. After researching tail light options, I was under the impression that most of the bar post compatible versions were the type that mounted to the bracket I had. with stand. Those were the pros and cons. Being able to detach it if needed is a…

Not worth buying

Potential buyers, I'm not looking for freebies from Topeak. That's my honest assessment. Do not buy. This light is an immature, poorly designed and poorly made poop for the following reasons: 1. The main benefit is that it integrates seamlessly with your Topeak luggage rack. However, the mounting tabs are too big for the rack mounting holes (I have an Explorer MTX rack). I had to force the headlight plastic through the mounting holes with self-tapping screws.2. See 1. They permanently attach…
