Critical Issues, Driver Information and MORE.

Advantages: It gives you WIFI. Here's the rest.1. If you want to use it, please install the drivers. I got 40% speed while doing this.2. The adapter was easy to install, but due to the fact that there is only one antenna connector, you may have trouble aligning the antenna properly with your wireless router. We finally bought it in January, but now it's dead in April. The room it was used in didn't have excessive humidity, the PSU wasn't subjected to physical shock, and the ambient temperature…

There is V3! And it uses a Realtek chipset.

So, as many others have understood and pointed out, there are different versions of this Wi-Fi adapter. Versions 1-3. And apparently version 1 is the only one that supports monitor mode. I think it's a bit misleading to sell Revain and TP-Link not to tell you which adapter version you are buying. Ease of use, functionality etc works well. Whether you need a fast, cheap Wi-Fi adapter for travel, temporary use, or whatever, this will help and do it well enough. Keep in mind that this is nowhere…

Needs to be disconnected/reconnected if connection fails

Bought this for a desktop gaming PC with no wireless card in 2013. At the time I was living in a college dorm that didn't have wired ethernet in the rooms . I don't know if the problems are due to the school's wireless security restrictions or to this card, but the connection dropped quite often. (Wi-Fi itself did not turn off, since my phone remained connected, but the desktop using this card suddenly stopped connecting to the network and had to be disconnected and then reconnected and started

It works well for general use, haven't pushed it to the extreme.

I ordered this device when it was on sale to get a network connection to my office PC in the basement to replace the network adapter to connect to the internet due to noise in it's reliability my electrics system old house has suffered. This is the second one I'm using and it's been working flawlessly since I bought it. The detachable antenna comes in handy if I ever change my configuration and want to use a larger or desktop antenna. It's currently plugged into a powered USB 2.0 hub (not the…

Comparison Version 2 vs 1

This is a slightly more technical review for you guys, and if you're only using it to connect to Wi-Fi, you can safely ignore it. After purchasing it, I found that it doesn't work properly with some Linux setups that are normally guaranteed to work (Kali). After some research I found out that the adapter has two versions - one with an Atheros chipset and the other with a RealTek chipset. So far the only reliable way to tell if I have it installed is to look at the bottom of the device itself to

Install the TP-Link utility at your own risk.

I would give this product 4/5 if there weren't major compatibility issues between TP-Link Utility and Windows 7 and 8. The device itself works as advertised. The increase in acceptance is impressive. However, the device only works well with drivers. If you want to get additional features, such as creating an access point, you need to install the TP-Link utility. This gives you more control over the device and the ability to create hotspots. After using the adapter with only the drivers…
