the kit is very nice and easily installed, I imagine it would be a fantastic purchase for hanging barn doors, however I bought it for a DIY project and I wanted to share with anyone that may read this. With 3 doorways in my office at my shop, finding a fixed central place for the TV without interfering with any door was proving difficult, and that’s when the idea to buy a track to hang the tv from hit me. Now the TV can move anywhere along a 13 foot rail and it’s worked out fantastically.

As a woodworker by trade for 46 years, and since "barn doors" are now "the thing," I have used several sets of Smartstandard hardware. Including a project for my own home. They are easy to incorporate into a design, well made, and easy to install. If I have a complaint, it's that the paint on the bolt heads and cap nuts chips easily if you're not careful.

Looks great, and great price for a kit with larger rollers. Rails and mounting hardware are pretty sturdy seeming. Rollers feel like cheap metal but roll nice and smoothly.Biggest problem was the very poor quality (aluminum?) 5" lags to screw into the header board. My impact gun snapped the second one before it was even halfway in. Yes, I predrilled. No spare parts included. Extra work to remove the broken lag and a trip to the hardware store equals a big deduction for installation.Otherwise…

Went with the double door rails, had to do more than a few adjustments with the center stop as originally there was a 1 inch gap between the doors, adjusting consisted of cutting off some of the rubber padding grinding down some metal and even drilling new holes on the doors, if not the two wheels will touch causing the gap between the two doors, if you want to avoid this go with rails that have the smaller wheels on top.

Love it! Easy install. Smooth glide. Quality product. I build 2 barn doors from Southern yellow pine and a wall out of ceda (picture attached). I'd definitely buy it again. Be sure to run wood blocking along the top where you will install the rail. To be sturdy, you'll need something to screw it into every 16 inches. I ran blocking in the wall across the whole top. Make sure you install the rail level!You'll mount the rail at door height plus 1 9/16" from the floor. For example, my door was

This was a fast project, and a one man job. The pre drilled holes didn’t match up with my studs, so I just used masonry brick anchors to put into my dry wall (I didn’t want to use my header).I would recommend this product and would definitely use again for future doors.Delivery took about 5-7 days to receive.

The 13’ is a great kit everything is included that you need to get the job done. You should plan on two people to hang the track as it’s a bit cumbersome due to its length and weight. Make sure your track is level or the doors will roll toward the low side, it’s probably the single most important step.

After applying stain spots were visible where the stain did not absorb as much into the wood. some were small circles others were splotches.Recommend paint for these doors.Otherwise I like them. Just don’t stain.

When I order a rail kit for a 10' barn door, it should come with a 20' rail, otherwise they just sold me a wall! I had to order another complete set in order to move my 10' door out of the way.
