Suitable for a 29 year old kid in sports

We bought this for a 29 year old Novara (REI) with disc brakes. Many rear footpegs are too close to the rear axle and hit the disc. This one drops about 2 inches to save. It's also long enough for 29 inch wheels. I wish the Tranz X had some sort of size chart. There may have been another model that would have been closer to the disc and farther from the pedals, but these models are hard to compare. Anyway, it worked and my son is happy.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Lots of stuff

Great solution for road bikes

Why designers make road bikes specifically without footpegs is beyond me. Not everyone is losing weight and wants to lose a few grams. I installed this stand on my 2010 Specialized Secteur. Frame 58 cm, sneaker size 11, no heel. I use this bike for commuting and this stand is strong enough to stabilize the bike when loading things onto the rack (on a road bike! Road bike!). Instructions are not included. The stand is supplied individually in a transparent bag. but not rocket science.

Worked well until it broke.

I bought this stand in July 2013. It's March 2014 and the plastic sleeve covering the spring that locks the stand up or down has ruptured. Despite this, the product didn't even last a year with moderate use, 1/5 stars. The functions on it are useful. The attachment loops are padded with plastic, paint or latex and also have rubber pads to prevent the device from scratching the paintwork. The length of the stand can be slowly adjusted by turning it. The stand was able to balance my bike in theโ€ฆ

Not good enough for cycling

This footrest has been on my bike a little less than two months and is worn out. I used it almost every day for cycling to and from campus. A major design flaw is that a piece of plastic serves as the main contact between the kickstand and the bike mount. This area is spring loaded each time the footrest is folded or unfolded which initially bothered me but based on two good reviews here I figured this wouldn't be a problem. About two weeks ago I noticed a small crack in the plastic part, which

Stand Rube Goldberg

Okay, it's not that hard, but it looks impressive. I bought a Schwinn adjustable footpeg for my mountain bike, but the rear brake assembly is right where the footpeg should be, so I attached it to another bike and bought this one. Although the guide came with no instructions, it was very easy to install, although it did require two different sized Allen keys and a pair of pliers. Three different clamps are available for your specific frame. The stand is strong enough, easily adjustable inโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Easy-to-read control panel
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.

A few quirks but works well

I have a full suspension mountain bike with no kickstand so I found it and it works. The swingarm has a combination of round and square tubing. I'm not sure if that's typical of all mountain bikes or if it's just my bike. In any case, the square tube used as a support at the top of the footrest made it difficult to assemble the round clamp. The kit comes in multiple sizes and even with the largest clip I had to do a bit of work to attach it. However, after twisting, the suction cup does notโ€ฆ

It just makes sense!

My husband ordered this for me after I complained that there was such a stigma that "real riders" didn't use footpegs. We ride 6-10 Centurys (100 miles) each year and average 60-80 miles per week. I hope that qualifies us as "real racersโ€. I LOVE this stand. It holds the weight of the bike at several different points on the bike so there is no stress on any part. It's lightweight and adjustable. I even had a bike mechanic who congratulated me for going against the grain and having a kickstandโ€ฆ

  • Not everything fits
