Very pretty but not fully waterproof. I sealed the roof and sprayed the whole house with Thompson Water Seal. The cat stays dry and she loves it. I have good beds inside, but we haven't seen winter yet. Perfect size for our wild male.

My problem with my 2 dogs trying to eat my cat food has been solved. Very strong and easy to assemble. I used my own screws for the two "ladders" on the side because the ones supplied were too short. I have a large orange tabby male dog and I had to make sure everything was strong enough for him and now it is! I hid it between two cupboards in the kitchen so my lab and little sister couldn't get to the hole in the balcony. Very happy with this purchase!

Well I loved this item until it came time to build it. Some of the screws don't fit right and aren't long enough, but I had extra screws so I managed. After spending 40 minutes putting it together I noticed cracks all over the wood. Huge crap! It's not cheap, so damaging it really sucks. Also, be careful when handling it! This home is incredibly pretty but not of high build quality. I bought another house from Trixie about 2-3 years ago with a tile roof which is much more durable and still looks great and with some compaction and insulation it will stand up to the elements. Firstly, as other reviews have noted - this should not be listed as indoor/outdoor - it's not remotely weather resistant or even weather resistant but I've read reviews and expect that I've covered it with several coats of polyurethane, sealed the top with silicone and polyester in the crevices, and I have every reason to believe it will perform well under the overhang for a year or more.
