Perfect stands! suitable for shock absorbers, struts and suspension

Old struts worked well most of the time until it got cold, not so reliable. It was immediately apparent how much easier it had become to open the lift gates. As someone suggested when replacing, first reinforce the overhead gate 2x4 longer than the height. Once you have removed both posts, attach both new posts to the top notch and adjust the height of your gate until it matches the other notch. I would suggest using a rubber mallet to hammer them in place, it won't damage the post but youโ€ฆ

Excellent replacement item

Excellent replacement. Remember that if the holes don't line up, insert the top one and rotate so the bottom ones line up. The first time I tried it I said these things wouldn't fit my 2001 Chevy Tahoe. Came back to my order and read the questions and of course you can rotate them to fit. OMG, once installed it's like having an automatic tailgate lift. As soon as I lift the handle, the door goes up by itself. You don't have to press or anything like that. They're a bit difficult to remove, butโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Price
Cons
  • Damaged

Bought to replace the rear door stays on my 2004 Chevy Tahoe and they work great. As other Tahoe users have pointed out, these bars are slightly longer (about 1/2 inch I would say). Just lift the tailgate a little higher to pick it up and you should be fine. The door opens quite well on its own. fast and slows down a bit towards the end. That suits me quite well, since the previous supports did not come up by themselves. I will update this review if there are any issues but so far so good.

Worked great on my Chevy Tahoe!

My 2001 Chevy Tahoe tailgate wouldn't open by itself. I even started using a rafting paddle to prop it up. Until I came across this set. Supplied with two hydraulic suspension links for the tailgate. Installation could never be easier! Two small pins popped out of the old wands, the new wands came with their own pegs, so you can throw away the old wands and pins. The bars click very slightly and now my door opens by itself again! Upon closer inspection, the rods turned out to be the same as myโ€ฆ

Great problem solver

Great solution to a sagging tailgate in 2000 suburbs. One thing I noticed was installing these 2 fixed issues which I thought were different things. ) Fixes sagging and excessive noise or poor performance of old luggage racks 2.) Fixed an issue where the tailgates wouldn't close properly like I have to keep slamming them shut 3.) Fixed the locking and unlocking issue for me. The last 2 issues were probably due to tailgate misalignment and these 2 things not working properly although 100%โ€ฆ

Great tailgate jacks for my 2003 Chevy Tahoe

These jacks are easy to install, inexpensive and work very well on my 2003 Chevy Tahoe. The first task is to remove the old ones. There is a small metal clip at each end of the lifter. Using a small screwdriver, pry this clip up and loosen it from the ball head. Then make sure the tailgate is fully open (ask a friend to hold it so you have both hands free to move the lift). When the tailgate is fully open you can easily remove the old jacks. Then, in reverse motion, slightly lift the latchesโ€ฆ
