From time to time you have to be in a good area, so sometimes the news went quickly and sometimes it took a while. I've read that the Garmin in Reach Mini does the same thing. Seriously disappointed in this product. When you buy it from certain retailers, Bivy allows them to link the device to a company account. The satellite phone store is closed on weekends and the support is terrible. What does that mean? - I cannot activate the device. - I cannot configure the device. - I can't change the settings. I received my Bivy Stick a few weeks ago. I haven't had a chance to take it on a hike yet, but I've tested it a couple of times. I love that it connects to my iPhone so I can program my messages through it. The dedicated registration button works great. I can send my wife a programmed message that I'm safe and happy.
