Remote access worked, but Ubiquiti Data Breach lost remote access!

Honestly, when the leak occurred, Ubiquiti disabled remote access to protect clients. The only way to restore dial-up networking (Unifi) and video (Protect) is to reset all settings. I only had local access to the cloud key and lived with it for months - biting the bullet to try to restore remote access. Ubiquiti does not have the ability to connect a running, isolated (non-removed) cloud key to its "cloud" remote control panel. I had both web and SSH access to the Cloud Key and Security…

    Mostly Junk: Computers and Accessories

Mostly Junk. Visit the Ubiquiti support forum and read about all the issues. Shape: Pretty shape but you can't screw it anywhere as there is no built-in bracket or even mounting holes. How it works: Mine is walled in. First, it wasn't possible to switch to a firmware version that didn't contain critical security vulnerabilities without actually removing the security check that the firmware version was compromised (read the forums). that's ridiculous. Second, tech support forced me to run…

Power consumption is the Achilles heel of this unit

Bought this unit instead of the non-NVR model because it was a small price difference. Ubiquiti missed the mark with this device. They offer two ways to input PoE and USB-c power. However, they cannot clearly state that PoE is active 48V and not compatible with passive 24V. Many of their products use and supply passive 24V. Why not allow that too? Don't worry, just use USB-C, right? Not correct. The documentation states that this requires a Qualcomm Fast Charge compatible power adapter…

To replace Unifi Video on PC

I've been using Unifi Video at home for a few years. I have six cameras and run software all the time on a PC running Windows 10. This machine (AMD Ryzen processor) consumes around 30W of power. The new cloud dongle draws about 10 watts and is powered by my POE switch, which also powers the cameras and access points. I first tried using a backup of my Unifi and Unifi video settings to import all settings and devices into a new cloud key. After several attempts I couldn't get this to work. I…

    Upgrade from Gen 1

I have used many Ubiquiti products for both small and large businesses. I like the direction of their products. I really think Ubiquiti should work on consolidating airOS, Controller, Protect and various other Unifi software applications. Cloud Key Gen 2 seems like a step in the right direction, but a single "unified" interface for their product paradigm is achievable in my opinion. I have a 15 camera setup running at home and it works fine. I inherited them from a Unifi Video implementation…

Good product but not without flaws (LCD did not work)

I don't have a UniFi camera but I decided to buy one because the price difference between the UCK-G2 and the UCK-G2-PLUS was small and I can use the PLUS version the UniFi Protect system if I ever bought their camera. Unfortunately, the first order came with a broken LCD on the front. Revain's second replacement has a working LCD. Look at the picture. I was able to migrate from Cloud Key gen1 by restoring a backup to the new Cloud Key and turning off the old Cloud Key, but it wasn't without its
