Didn't work in my area with our P25 800Mhz system

If I pay over $300 for a handheld scanner, I don't have to manually upgrade individual parts (e.g. better batteries, better antenna, etc.) just to get it working make. Even after purchasing a better 800MHz antenna, the scanner still had trouble picking up 800MHz transmissions in my area. If I am returning this scanner I will look for another brand.

Pros
  • Still happy

He eats the battery like crazy! When fully charged

I have had many scanners over the years and a few later. This one didn't impress. He eats the battery like crazy! When fully charged, about 2 hours remain on one channel. If scanned, 30 minutes. The battery life on this sucks. It's also difficult to program. I like its features. So, that's the part I like about it. But that's about it. I would forgo that and go for the BCD436HP instead.

Pros
  • Constant test results
Cons
  • Obsolete model

Nice little scanner!

Nice little scanner for the money and very easy to program if you use something like RadioReference and FreeSCAN. This way you don't have to manually enter hundreds of frequencies. Batteries that come with the kit stink! (Made in China) and only lasts about 4 hours if you're lucky with a full charge. over 7 hours of continuous enjoyment. I also ordered Diamond (Original) RH77CA 144/440MHz. High gain portable dual band antenna to see if I can pick up more channels clearly - (I'll let you know)โ€ฆ

I really like my Uniden BCD325P2!

WOW . What a great DIGITAL scanner! Works like a champ in my big city. Allows me to hear all types of law enforcement, fire, ambulance, DPS, etc. activity. This scanner is NOT suitable for people unfamiliar with programming high-end scanners! It will drive you crazy very quickly. Personally, I use a computer with the "Freescan" downloadable software in conjunction with RadioReference.com to program my computer and it works great! After mastering the learning curve with these tools, I was ableโ€ฆ

I do not recommend - wireless scanner

2 months and already useless and I just missed the return deadline. It was a learning experience, and not a very good one. No more Unidens for me - the quality has obviously left the house. The batteries that come with this little fool last a couple of hours and then go back to the charger. Boo - bad. I always had to put AA alkaline batteries in - the batteries were always in the charger. I'm no newbie to electronics - I'm an FCC licensed ham radio operator and invest megabucks in gear. Butโ€ฆ

Sophisticated but very functional scanner

The Uniden BCD325P2 scanner is a multifunctional scanner capable of receiving all of the modern analog and digital signals you are likely to encounter in your area. But it's a complex process with a steep learning curve for the average user new to scanning. In the 1980s, when signals were mostly standard analogue, I used my old Bearcat scanner to regularly listen to police, fire and air traffic control messages. I recently decided that I want to do it again. But when I started thinking aboutโ€ฆ

I really tried to get this to work but.

A fair warning to those who consider themselves smart and capable with technological aids and may be concerned after reading how difficult it is to learn how to use this device. I'm not afraid to own any tech tool, but after three weeks of use I gave up and returned it. Here are some of the problems you will encounter: There are no real instructions on how to set it up and use it. It comes with a small multi-page booklet detailing the various programming features, but it doesn't tell you how to

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Slightly creased
