Useful tool for 98 navigator to use with FORScan

Allowed me to use FORScan tool. I have now had the GEM module and driver's door replaced on a '98 Navigator so I suspect I have not been able to PROGRAM my remote keys using PATS but it has read fault codes when using an unbound remote key. . I was eventually able to program them without this tool (see other reviews) but it was helpful to let me know which parts of my also faulty air spring circuit and door lock were giving codes compared to the Vepeak wifi scanner so kept it i it. .

So far so good in code readers and scanners

While I like Bluetooth in many ways, there's something about the physical connection between devices. Like this adapter for your laptop. I was able to quickly connect OBDII (f150) to my laptop and run FORScan. I'm using the Lite version and still learning its ins and outs. But I was able to quickly find a setting to reset the BCM and battery cycle counter - since I just changed the battery and you need to tell the BMS that it's new. I assume this will work just as well when running data logging

Works well and is easy to use.

I've only had the cable for a few days but so far I haven't had any problems that weren't caused by using an old netbook to run it. There were other similar cables for less money, but the reviews seemed random, so I went with this one. A mention on the Forscan page didn't hurt either. The only problem I had was when I tried to install the adapter and the driver couldn't be found (there were problems updating windows at the time) so I had to consult google and download the driver myself. After…

Worked great with Forscan software to reprogram the stock configuration

Worked great with Forscan software to flash the stock configuration for my 2015 Mustang GT. Configuration settings/codes are readily available on forums such as Mustang6g, along with instructions for those unfamiliar with the capabilities of these devices. Get an extended Forscan license to do more than just read and reset service codes. I highly recommend this Veepeak scanner that works great for about half the price of other approved ELM327 OBD-II scanners. It is also recommended by Forscan…

good product easy to use Adding new keys to a 2001 Mercury Sable

I used this with Forscan software to program new keys to a 2001 Mercury Sable easily and quickly, saved me an expensive trip to the dealer to get new keys programmed. I bought a used car with only (1) key and figured it was no big deal. Then I learned that without having two keys in hand that are programmed into the car's computer, you have to go to a locksmith or dealer to have another one added so that you have a spare again. My understanding is that it can cost several hundred dollars. this…

Easy setup, powerful tool!

Device driver downloaded from Veepeak website. Veepeak website has links to driver, FORScan software and user manual. My Windows 10 laptop recognized the cable immediately. Download the free version of FORScan. FORScan connected to a 2010 Mazda 3 with no problems. I could see all of its modules. The oscilloscope feature is really cool. This allows you to visually identify a defective sensor or track the operation of several sensors together. I was very pleased with the ease of setup of this…

Works as advertised for me

I used this item to make mods for my 19 F150 Platinum with Forscan. It worked great with my Windows 10 Surface Pro tablet and Forscan software. Forscan tells you when to toggle the switch when reading/programming different modules. At first I had a few hiccups when the computer didn't pull the driver automatically. What worked for me was plugging everything into the truck, then rebooting the surface pro with the scanner plugged into the truck, turning on the power, and then the surface…

Worked well for resetting the battery hours on my Ford Fusion Hybrid

For reasons unknown, Ford decided to put a timer in the battery of our 2010 Fusion Hybrid that counts exactly 10 years and then partially disables and degrades the battery. Our battery was and still is fine, especially since it has built-in bypass and failover circuits to avoid using failed cells, but the hybrid functionality didn't work properly. We no longer had good pickup from a stop or when merging into traffic, and mileage was significantly reduced as the petrol engine was running all the

Learn more about how your car works than you might think

If you are into cars and computers, this is what you need instead of a wearable device. It works with FORScan, which you can download for free. First I downloaded the program and first got acquainted with the functions, then I ordered a Veepeak adapter, very simple. This is a quality adapter that fits perfectly into the diagnostic socket on my F150. By following simple instructions with an adapter, the canister solenoid malfunction that was causing the engine to catch fire was detected in…
