Now it's all a specification

These screwdriver bits are manufactured to the new ISO-8764-1 and DIN 5250 standards and are suitable for both Philips and JIS. As shown on the Vessel website. I compared the tip under the optical comparator with Wiha and Wera PH-2 and they are identical. And to a lesser extent port freight and artisan drivers. It also has a built-in swipe mechanism. So if you already own a newly manufactured Phillips screwdriver, they look like they are all made to the same ISO/DIN specification. I am not sure

JIS Perfectly Balanced Screwdriver

I love everything about this Vessel Megadora Impact Tool. I never needed a shock absorber for regular maintenance on my Japanese bikes. The advantage of JIS compliant ferrules is that the screws are not damaged or stripped when loosening or tightening. Exactly the right tool for the right job. A lot of people have talked about using bolts to remove the rotor from the hub on Honda and some other Japanese cars. Surely the Impact feature will come in handy in this application. Especially when the…

Regular homeowner good for screwdrivers and wrenches

I've had this item for 10 months now and I can safely say this is the best Phillips screwdriver I've ever owned (yes I know it is not *technically* a Phillips screwdriver; it can turn Phillips screws, so I'm assuming it's one). I don't ride Yamaha bikes, I don't use this thing professionally and I don't have a toolbox full of fancy snap-on tools. I'm a regular homeowner who saw this thing on AvE's youtube channel and decided I needed it for $10. It is excellent. If I need a Phillips…

WOW- Best Screw Seat I've Ever Seen

I bought the 980 Impacta to remove stuck screws in rusty equipment. I used it for a simple home project the other day to get a feel for a screwdriver. Ergonomics are ok. I prefer the handle designs from WIHA and WERA. The striking mechanism also increases the weight of the handle. The center of gravity seems to be in the palm of your hand. I'll have to try some of the standard Vessels screwdrivers to see if they have the best ergonomics. The special thing about this screwdriver is the accuracy…

A few things to know before you buy.

The bolts on my 50 year old Honda bike that had sat for many, many years were just as tight as before. It filmed them all without undressing. There are a few things you should know about this driver before purchasing it. First you have to hit the driver really hard to activate the mechanism. I checked this by lightly tightening a loose screw and hitting it with a small hammer with about the same force as driving a nail into wood. The screw could not be removed. It only worked by hitting the…

but feels better than most plastics

I was very impressed by this screwdriver. I expected the $13.99 Prime to be an unreliable/cheap tool since my toolbox is stocked with Snap-on, Wiha and Fluke. First off, the grip feels solid. They are gray and made of hard plastic, but feel better than most plastic. It's also tough enough, I'm not worried about it being easily distorted or damaged. Black is the rubber that gives me good traction. The handle is also thick, making it easy to apply good torque. And the grip head is, as you would…

The best tool to use with JIS and Phillips heads. influence plus.

While searching YouTube for suggestions on how to remove bolts from a Honda brake disc, I came across an article that mentioned "JIS". Japanese Industrial Standard mounts are used on most if not all Japanese vehicles. At first glance, you might mistake them for Phillips fasteners, but that's definitely not the case. Many torn off brake disc screws bear witness to this. In fact, this Vessel impact wrench removed the rotor bolts that I previously messed with the Phillips #2. By simply inserting…

I didn't know JIS riders existed until I saw a bike mechanic referencing them in a youtube video. By the way, JIS stands for Japanese Industrial Standard, but is better known as Japanese Phillips. Phillips screws that meet the JIS specification are usually marked with a single raised dot or "X". JIS always fits Phillips fasteners, but due to minor design differences, Phillips screwdrivers may not fit JIS fasteners. (unless the tip is slightly lapped). The screw standard JIS B 1012:1985 is…
