Great for occasional use.

They do what they are supposed to do but I personally don't like their length. I find it a bit annoying how far you have to open the handles to load the next wire, and it's also not "smooth" actions so it takes some effort. I wouldn't expect an everyday tool from Irwin, more of an occasional tool. However, I do hundreds, possibly thousands, of resignations a week, so I'm probably overly sensitive.

Only strippers to order. :)

Excellent wire strippers. I bought these to darn my husband's stockings as one of those "tool gifts" that I can use too. These are the best wire strippers I've ever used, apart from some of my grandfather's old favorites that are no longer for sale. They're beautiful, slivery, and well-aligned, so using them doesn't require much effort or care. Carefree streak. :) They're nice and small enough to work in all sorts of applications: cars, microcontrollers, home electrical installations, and more.

Not worth the money

I bought 2 of these mainly because of the name and rating. I have other Irwin tools and they seem to be of good quality. I do NOT recommend buying them. The first pair I tried to cut with 12 gauge copper wire and the rim of the torch snapped off. It can still be used, but the blade now has a notch. The second pair doesn't cut the wire insulation very well. The jaws tend to separate and wrap around the wire rather than cutting through the insulation. It also gets the job done, but not as neatly…

BEWARE. Easy to cut screws to the end

I bought these specifically to cut off a screw that was too big and I didn't want to file it. It seemed easy enough. Screw in the thread and compress. Nothing. Maybe I'm just getting weak from spending too much time indoors, so I do it with both hands. Does not move. Maybe I need to add some speed. Nothing yet. At this point I noticed that the inner tip of the cut had chipped off. I asked my roommate to try it, failed and just laughed at another seemingly bad Amazon purchase. I dig up an old…

Great for driving screws

I only bought this because I had to cut a few screws shorter than they were for making a custom wardrobe with closet pulls. It worked pretty well until I found out the screws on the back would press against the wall. Oops, a serious oversight. So I googled how people do it all the time when the screws are sticking out that much and found that yes you can trim them and it's actually very easy. All you need is one of these tools. They have built-in cutters of various sizes that allow you to cut…

They do their job well but they are terrible and I don't want to use them.

I am disappointed after my last pair of strippers which were just a cheap unbranded pair. Ergonomically they are terrible. With tools like pliers, scissors, and wire strippers where you need some precision, you generally want the object you're working on to be closer to the hand holding the tool until you achieve proper placement. Since wire strippers have cutouts for different sized wires, the only way to get your hand closer to the tool is to bring your hand closer to the pivot point…

Nothing to say. The tool does its job as expected.

Bought to replace old loose dull tools in my bag. You do the work. Not surprising but certainly not disappointing, just what you would expect from a basic tool. I've never dealt with strippers, I tend to break strands, but the cutting edges are sharp enough to get the job done. The front handle of the pliers allows you to transmit quite a bit of force, although the close proximity to the puller teeth means you risk damaging the cutting edges, but at this point just grab the right pliers. The…
