VIVOHOME Polycarbonate Window Awning Bracket Review

I bought this to protect my BBQ area from the rain. For that it works very well. It is easy to assemble and install. I'm not sure how well this will hold up through the winter months. but we will see. (*An additional point: my first item arrived slightly damaged. I contacted the seller and he sent me a replacement very quickly, no questions asked! This seller is fantastic and for that reason alone I highly recommend this product !)

It's not that hard to install yourself but I wish someone else was around it would be a lot easier. Either way, the awning is light enough to hold in place if you're used to doing everything yourself. The screws that come with the kit are pretty much useless unless you have 6" clearance to catch the part that opens them (those are wall anchors). Instead, I used lag screws I had at the store. Took me about 5 minutes to put the awning together, looks pretty solid.

After building this tiny house the upper west facing hatch window needed some shading and this canopy was perfect. It is easy to install and strong enough to withstand the winds. Are you kidding? "Polycarbonate" is a paper-thin sheet that's glued to what appears to be cardboard or another waffle-like material like cardboard. We regularly have high winds here, and this ridiculous product will be in Kansas at the first gust of 20+ mph. Very thin when assembled. Only 4 small screws hold it together and the pieces kept falling off before I could put them back together. So I glued all the parts with silicone, including the polycarbonate panel, and then screwed in 4 small screws. Now they don't break up. Manufacturer. says to install only on a flat outdoor surface.
