overclocking temperature; won't keep up.

Switch on the device and the temperature/power scale starts to work up to the maximum value regardless of the selected scale. Volrath Service gave me a Midwest garage number. I called and apparently it's a common issue with the decision to send it to them after paying over a hundred for diagnostics and as it was probably a charge based on their experience with other equipment I was advised , cheaper to buy brand new. We loved it when we first got it, put it away for a year when we didn't need…

Not compatible with many pans

Good assembly, high quality. However, this does not work with Le Cruset (7 inch) or small fully clad pans (sizes 4 5 inch). It works with carbon steel pans. I ended up having to send him back because he is so picky. The temperature control/hold is a nice feature, but with a sensor under the glass it will certainly go beyond the norm. The temperature overshoot is most problematic when the load is low (small empty sump with little oil). It holds a good 13 liters of water at 75° C. The heat output

This is a versatile hob. He had no problem keeping a hot cast iron skillet between 400F and 500F for a table top grill. In addition, 100 power levels make it easier to maintain a constant temperature during low-temperature cooking. The dial was a joy to use and really saved a lot of time when cooking. The fan is very quiet. The packaging is compact and looks right at home on the countertop. At the same time, the built-in temperature controller is just terrible. I get around this by using an…

Don't expect accuracy

I've had this for about 20 months and use it regularly at home. Most often, a frying pan is used to reheat what is taken out of the freezer. I've always noticed that the temperature setting is far from accurate. Let's say I take one of Bertolli's frozen Italian dishes from the fridge and drop it into this appliance's frying pan. If I set it to 160, it heats without the ingredients boiling - increasing one setting to 170 - and liquids boiling. I recently tried getting the water up to 200 for…

Do not buy this induction cooker for domestic use - be careful!

I have purchased two Mirage Pro units and when they work they work fine. However, I had problems with both. The main dial (which you use to set the power level and timer) on the first device is unreliable: you can't adjust the power level or the timer smoothly and infinitely - the number jumps randomly as you turn the knob. I was willing to ignore this quirk because in every other respect the device worked well. After buying a second device and realizing that he also had an issue, real problems

  • 1 year trial

Let's start with the 14 inch burner as some people find it controversial. Actual burner area, as determined on the block surface, is smaller than the advertised 14 inches, so yes, the 14 inch reference may not seem entirely correct. I used an 18 inch cast iron flat bottomed pot to cook chicken with onion soup on this appliance. The preparation went very well. My large cast-iron pot contained a large quantity of water, about 6 liters, plus vinegar, wine and various spices. I placed the soup…
