I like this unit although it won't sharpen all my chisels especially my US made handset but it will sharpen my cheap Aldi set. It can sharpen my planes, but you need to tighten the adjustment knob or it will slowly slip off. I would recommend marking the plane's position with a marker so you can tell if it's slipping.
