Exactly what I need, perfect.

These electrodes work as they should. I don't have an automatic point grinder; I make mine all by hand and they always come out perfect. I have trouble with Agent Orange from Vietnam, so the partial loss of feeling combined with my natural tremors doesn't always contribute to the tungsten's longevity. I needed more control than my MIG welder when repairing multiple cracks and crevices in the 24" hardened torch on my bike. I will buy them again.

Good tungsten at a great price

Midwest Blue Tungsten Bought on the recommendation of a friend who teaches welding and gave me tips to help me learn TIG welding. I have used Blue 1/16 and 3/32 with excellent results on aluminium, mild steel and stainless steel. They seem to hold their point longer than some of the others I've used as long as you stay away from the pool. Not that I'm good enough to offer advice, but I've found that it's best not to use tungsten on multiple materials (leave aluminum just for aluminum). I highly

I did a lot of research on what type of tungsten is best. From my research

As a 4th place welder of Sprint auto chassis in the SkillsUSA National Welding Competition, I did a lot of research to determine what type of tungsten is best. From my research, 2% lanthanum is the best tungsten next to E3 which is a mixture of 1.5% lanthanum with a few other rare earth elements. If you want something that will work just as well on DC as 2% thorium and will also work great on AC, this is what you should buy. I gave my colleagues a couple of electrodes to test last week and we…

WeldingTipsAndTricks

I bought 2% Lanthanum on recommendation from Jody on Youtube where he hosts a wide range of how to videos, MIG, TIG etc. I found it best for my purpose. He actually welds professionally, so he can demonstrate techniques that aren't in books or familiar to beginners, but make videos for his own enjoyment. Jody goes by the pseudonym WeldingTipsAndTricks. Now Tungsten Electrodes; Very well finished and packaged in a convenient open case. A note on thoriated electrodes. I take the radioactive…

Wonderful tungsten made in the USA!

This tungsten is a very high quality product, a more homogeneous mixture of lanthanides and tungsten. Much cheaper / Chinese made tungsten does not have a very homogeneous mix of lanthanides in the tungsten base. This causes a lot of weird arc instability problems. If you run those cheaper tungsten electrodes on an inverter machine they will form all sorts of crazy little crowns and eventually the electrode will become so cratered that you can't use it. I have welded quite a bit of aluminum…

I'm a self taught TIG welder (and according to my welder I've only had about 45 hours of arc time to date) but I've welded lots of 6xxx, 3xxx and die cast alloy , a significant amount of 304SS, and mild and chromium-moly steel. I started with and still have a fairly large collection of different tungsten alloys to this day, but this 2% Midwestern Lanta has become my favorite tungsten because it welds everything so well. If you haven't already made the switch, buy the 3/32 and 1/16 pack and be…
