I used to love it!

MUST READ THE UPDATE BEFORE BUYING --- I only have one problem with this potty. Now I have neighbors who come for coffee all the time, but no one has yet agreed to help me pay for the coffee. Seriously, this kettle is easy to use and will keep coffee hot for hours without getting too strong. It's like having an "always open" coffee shop in my kitchen. I also bought a coffee grinder and some great coffee beans, all of which miraculously contributed to my obesity in retirement. I highly recommend

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Not as thick as others

"Controversial "

Used once a day for seven months then problems started. The first problem I call stop and restart. It will go through the perk process and a light will illuminate to indicate the coffee is ready. Then the light goes out and it shines a second time. Then a second problem arose, the coffee wasn't hot. Eventually the heating element stopped heating completely. I gave it two stars because it worked great for three months. It would take a whole year to get three stars. Because I believe West Bend…

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • High price

Not what I wanted from a coffee maker. It's fast and that's probably the problem. What I've found is that it takes more time to get the best percolator experience, amazing flavor and divine aroma that fills the house. As the saying goes: Take time for a good deed! I found that to get the classic coffee maker I was looking for without finding a vintage aluminum and/or plastic version, it had to be a stove top coffee maker. This allows you to increase the temperature a little more slowly, giving…

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Cord is shorter than others

Let's get back to making coffee, how it should be made.

As many reviewers pointed out, when I bought a percolator coffee maker I didn't know which brand to go for. I've read the reviews and stayed away from the ones that had an aluminum nut on the bottom, but I couldn't escape the ubiquitous fact that these coffee makers are all made in China. So I put caution aside and went with this brand because I really wanted a percolator. I couldn't wait to see, hear and smell the hot water rising through the central shaft to the clearly visible top. I wasn't…

A coffee maker for those who love original mid-century versions

I consider myself very knowledgeable about coffee makers, having been using vintage models for the past six years. Percolators from the 1950s and 60s were highly polished and elegantly designed. I tried three of these before finally buying a new one. I chose this model and made the right choice. Here's why I love coffee makers and how this model is rated: 1) Great tasting coffee. I've always preferred the percolator flavor. This model doesn't have brew strength settings like some vintage…

I love this West Bend pot for many reasons!

I bought this Revain coffee pot in August 2017 and it has been used almost every day since it arrived. I love him for many reasons. I love it because it makes great coffee and keeps it hot and hot. I love it for its easy cleaning and beauty; all shiny and shiny, sitting on my countertop. I have to admit, this makes me a little nostalgic for my mother's kitchen when I was little; especially the wonderful smell of his coffee when it invigorates. Nothing compares to the blissful smell of…

I love my Westbend coffee maker!

After our last "modern" brewing machine went haywire - the coffee grinder (long since out of order) on the stupid thing started by itself - I decided to go back to the good old reliable coffee machine. After much deliberation, I decided to do it. Glad you did! This is a very good percolator and does everything I expected. I also love the fact that it doesn't take up half my counter like the new fancy drip machines that aren't going to last much longer. I've read all the reviews and got some…
