Just like mom is used to: cheese slices

This cheese cutter is exactly the same as my mother used 30 years ago. I got so frustrated trying to get good slices with knives and could never get even slices. I finally remembered having this kind of slicer style as a kid that allowed me to get perfect slices every time. I ordered it immediately and am very happy with it so far. Finally after years of searching for a good cheese slicer

When I got married we had two similar cheese slicers. It was nice to have 2 so while one was dirty and in the dishwasher the other could be used. One fine day a wire broke on one of the cheese cutters and years, if not years, began a long search for a replacement. At every store we visited we would shop for housewares in search of replacements. We settled on a type that can be adjusted to the size of a slice of cheese, but in the end it didn't satisfy us because the adjustment mechanism broke…

Attention! There are at least two different models on this list! (29272260, 71002270)

The main reason I'm writing this review is just to emphasize something I wasn't aware of when I ordered it: There are at least two significant models that are selling through are on this list, and only one of them has a replaceable cutting wire. The differences between the models are greater than the color choice, so the buyer should be careful. Only the Westmark Roll Cut Gallant Model #29272260 (Red/Black) has a replaceable wire. One discolours in the dishwasher

It should have gotten a five star rating and fireworks. It would be if I bought just one of those cheese slices. In my opinion this is the ONLY cheese slice on the market worth the devil. This is EXACTLY the cheese slicer I remember from my childhood in the last century. This unit could still be somewhere nearby, doing its humble little job without any drama whatsoever.
