Solid kit, works well (400/1000 water stone set)

I bought a 400/1000 water stone set. .As with any sharpening stone, good technique and experience ensure the best results. There are a lot of good videos if that's what you're looking for. For uneven surfaces, you must use proper grinding methods and keep the stone wet to prevent metal dust and stone dust from clogging the stone or affecting the smoothness of the surface.

Fantastic Kitchen whetstone

Beautiful flat stone. The 400 side is rough enough to quickly mold my worst kitchen knife when they aren't great for quick sharpening. 1000 pages is usually enough to get the thin edge of the knives for a nice smooth cut. I finally have sharp knives in the kitchen again after my valueless partner RUNS MY KNIFE BLADE ON ALL POSSIBLE SURFACES regardless of what she's doing. I mean damn it's one thing if it was an isolated incident but every time the knife is used I find it in the sink so the…

Very easy after the learning curve.

Just got my new Chefic 400/1000 Wet Stone. As a kid I had to try my new (toy), I have several other wet stones but they are 1000-8000 grit. I needed a much smaller grit to start with as I'm learning the wet stone method. This 400 grit was just what I needed to get started with some of my really dull knives. I've tried higher grit with little success (still learning). Used the new Chefic 400 grit and worked like a charm. Now I can move to a higher grit. I'm still learning the technique, but I'm…

As long as it works well! Hand tool

item received on time after order (not affected by shortages or supply chain issues). Everything listed was included in the kit - a block, rubber anti-slip, wooden base, angled knife guide and whetstone for leveling the surface - in good condition. There are no instructions on how to use the corner guide! Does it slip on the back of a knife? do you put your knife on him? Confused if you are not familiar with this device. I'm deducting a star because this aspect of the packaging was overlooked…

Great price and whetstone

I bought this because I have a set of Farberware kitchen knives. The knives are very dull after a year of use and I've been researching what to do to get them sharp. I've been doing a lot of research on how to sharpen knives with a whetstone and wanted it to be as cheap as possible for fear it wouldn't work because of all the Revain fakes. I have not received any emails with instructions for use. so i went on youtube and watched some videos. It took at least 5 minutes on each side, but now I…

Very satisfied skeptics

After reading the reviews I bought these sharpening stones with caution: the negative reviews seemed to be valid and I wasn't sure if all the positive reviews were real. I had the same feeling with all of the whetstone vendors on Revain - they all seem to be selling roughly the same product. I bought the 400/1000 and 3000/8000 combos and tested them the day they arrived. As our Global knives haven't seen a real stone since they were new it took a while to get a proper bevel and even ridge at…

Worth the money, top quality stones

I have a very nice Japanese Myiabi knife, when I first bought it the knife was razor sharp, of course as I used the knife it became less sharp . like knives do. So I decided that since I had paid so much for this fine tool I would take it somewhere and have it professionally sharpened. Long story short, the culinary dude ruined the knife. I might as well cut everything with a butter knife. So I ordered this whetstone with 400/1000 grit and 3000/8000 grit. I also bought honing oil. After…

So far, so good. Works great on my knives - they're like new!

After a long search for whetstones, I decided on this one. As this will be my first experience with whetstones I have decided to go for a cheaper item compared to the much more expensive Japanese stones. I watched some videos on You Tube on how to use wet rocks like this one. Since I love to cook, a sharp knife is very important to me. I have both Global and Shun knives that I take great care of. I followed the directions and soaked the stones (I also bought BearMoo 3000/8000 grit stones) for…
