Does its job wonderfully! Costs money.

I needed to sharpen some OLD Barclay Forge stainless steel kitchen knives. I used another tool to smooth and clean up the heavily blurred, chipped edges and dots before using it to finish the job. Also used it on a 35 year old (no kidding) Victorinox Swiss Army Knife (all blades and chisels) and an old leatherworking tool. This worked wonders in cleaning all edges and points. It was worth every penny! After a while I had to replace the belt but it was very easy to do. The side grip is a bit…

Ceramic sharpener is useless

I have several knife sharpeners including the original Work Sharp belt system. I bought it because it looked easier and quicker to use than the original. To a certain extent this is correct. My only complaint is with the "sharpening" ceramic rod. That didn't work for me at all. Even with practice I could not improve the edge. Also, I haven't been able to fully clean it, despite the instructions saying it's easy to clean with an eraser. I used this sharpener as instructed and also used a 12 inch

Fits some knives

Due to the position of the pulleys, motor and body shape on this sharpener, it will not sharpen all knives. This works well for kitchen knives, but pocket knives with thumb studs won't be able to get the blade base angle right very well. In addition, knives with large finger guards do not work. With the protection removed it works better, but still not perfect. The reason the more expensive version ($70) has the motor housing on the side of the belt is to solve this problem. I recommend…

Easy to use, often best suited for knife sharpeners

Works very well with all types of knives. Different straps are important, so buy a set of replacement straps. After using the straps necessary to give your knives the right edge, keep them in working condition by adding a finishing touch-up tape from time to time to keep good edges for everyday use and am commonly used kitchen. Knives so you can jump on them as many times as you like. It's as simple as sweeping the blade over it a few times to refresh the blade to a razor shine. As they say…

It works pretty well and gets the job done for workers.

I have tried many other knife sharpeners but this is the best. If you are a knife collector and you have a lot of expensive knives in your collection and you suffer from obsessive compulsive disorder due to scratches or scratches on your knives. then this is not for you. This is an AWESOME knife sharpener for people who use their knives for work frequently and every day and want to get the job done. In my opinion ideal and recommended for fishermen, hunters, contractors, cooks, butchers, etc…

Three years and still unimpressed

I'm not the type to keep a bunch of hunting knives at home so this review isn't for you. I like sharp kitchen knives for cooking and eating. I used to use a cheap Presto stone disc sharpener. This easy-to-use device has always produced sharp knives, but I figured the more money the sharper; Boy was I wrong. This sharpener is very expensive for what you get and sharpens the knives lousy. I've sharpened a couple of table knives on both devices and the Presto offers a much sharper knife. I'm only…

Don't waste your hard-earned money!

I've been collecting knives all my life. I used a laborious wet stone, a sharpening rod, even a drill and sandpaper. When I saw this pencil sharpener from Work Sharp I thought yeah let's do it! I received the package and then watched the tutorial video. Very very easy to use. It's easy to teach a monkey to do that. I followed the directions, one side then the other, making sure to do each side an equal number of times. I had a pocket knife with a 4 inch blade and started with that. He wasn't…
