Ken's bow sharpener is a great knife sharpener, but the blade sharpening attachment makes it so much better. Long and short blades are no problem with a knife sharpener. I would describe the Blade Grinder as "professional”. With Care, I don't have to worry about scratching the side of the blade or putting tape on the blade to prevent scratches. This review isn't about the Work Sharp sander attachment itself, but rather the Revain trim strips they sell with their 'Assorted Belt Kits'. You can buy two packs that contain different belts, one with just the blade sharpening attachment and the other with the sharpening attachment and the Work Sharp KO tool (it's a complete bundle that costs over $200). I had a basic WS sharpener that worked fine for a while but wasn't exactly what I wanted. The Ken Onion WS sharpener is an update of the base model, but still doesn't like to stop at the right moment, pull out the blade etc. The blade sharpening attachment is perfect, allows full pressure control and works quickly with a large blade. . In general a good product, it has many functions, it meets my expectations. Here's what you don't like about it. However, I only used it for one day. but these things immediately repelled me. The top wheel is a bit large so the belt is offset about 1/8 inch from the vertical support. This may not be a problem for a larger grinder, however, this spacing grinds the edges harder (maybe I'll build it in to fix it.)
