My dog loves these Tuffy toys! The toucan is great because it doesn't have small pieces (like the legs on the lobster or octopus) for him to chew off. Super bright and made well.

Pros
  • Provides a fun and engaging way to teach dogs new tricks
Cons
  • May not be able to withstand rough and tough play

The Sheep is mightier than the Toucan

Our GSD puppy took out the Toucan in just over 1 month of play. That's not bad but the Sheep from Tuffy line has been going for 3 months strong so the Toucan pales in comparison to that. Our fuzzball was able to de-stuff the bird by pulling apart the seam where the leg meets the body. From that point everything was accessible, there was absolutely zero compartmentalization of the stuffing. We love the brand and will re-purchase the sheep if/when it ever meets a shredded end but we won't be…

Pros
  • Perfect gift for the dog lover in your life
Cons
  • May not be as chew-resistant as other dog toys

Don't waste your money if you have a dog that likes .

My 7 month puppy was able to chew a hole and start pulling out the stuffing 5 minutes after I gave it to him. Don't waste your money if you have a dog that likes to destroy. This is not as tough as they claim.

Pros
  • Pet Supplies
Cons
  • Limited durability

Lasted 3 minutes, while supervised

I used to really like these but this purchase was the biggest waste of money. I introduced each toy separately and supervised, redirecting my dog when they started to chew. Each of the toys that opened, happened in minutes. They are now completely unusable bc now the stuffing just comes out to happily be ingested. Will not be buying the Tuffy animals any more.

Pros
  • Provides relief for teething puppies
Cons
  • May not be the best toy for dogs with sensitive teeth or gums

Not *that* tough . but still an excellent toy!

These Tuffy toys are NOT indestructible, but I'm giving it 5 stars. My 9-month-old English setter, a very determined dog, suck/chewed open a seam within one week. I don't care, it's one of the best toys we've had. Most plush toys last five minutes, so a week before entry is made? Fantastic. The fiber inside was easy to remove once the hole was made and it took about two weeks before it was totally empty of stuffing. She's spent the last three months slowly making a rag out of it.It absolutely…

Pros
  • Helps dogs work off excess energy
Cons
  • May not be strong enough for dogs who enjoy ripping their toys apart

Better than expected

When I first found the Tuffy toys online, I noticed the price increase in comparison to other toys. But I can definitely say that it (Toucan) was worth it. I have a one year old, 60 lb golden doodle/ retriever mix who has a history of eating my bedding and her own beds, and this Toucan is still around after a month. I have to say though, as always we only let her play with it when we are around and can supervise but her other toys never lasted more than few hours.Toucan: I think it looks cuter…

Pros
  • Provides added mental and emotional enrichment for dogs
Cons
  • May not be as enjoyable for dogs as other toys on the market

RIP Toucan.Did not even last but a FEW minutes!

I have 2 dogs, the smallest is some sort of beagle/foxhound mix. We got it today and she surprisingly had the beak torn open in only a few minutes tops! She happily dragged the stuffing out and carried the flatten beak bird to me. Even though she felt proud of her "accomplishment", I was bummed! She is NOT the dog that I thought I would have to keep the "close eye on" with it and it all happened SO fast! As such, I cannot recommend this Tuffy item to anyone. We have had the…

Pros

Pros
  • Provides a great way to tire out high-energy dogs
Cons
  • May be too small for some dogs to enjoy playing with

Super tuff toy!: my feedback

My Pointer destroys toys in minutes. She got this for Christmas, it is over a month later and the toy is still intact even after being played with all of the time.

Pros
  • Perfect for puppies and adult dogs alike
Cons
  • May not appeal to dogs with specific interests and preferences

Love this toy - my new review

Love this toy! We have two dogs. A chocolate lab and a hound. I thought the toucan was going to be a little bit bigger than it was. It's the perfect size. Both dogs carry it around all over the house. Our hound sleeps with it. We've had it a week or so and they are so rough with it. It's amazing! Any other toy would already be in the trash torn apart

Pros
  • Provides added sensory stimulation for dogs
Cons
  • May be too heavy for some dogs to catch and retrieve

My Vizsla found the tag, exploited the weakness, and ripped the toy apart at the seams. At the very least he has had a couple days worth of enjoyment shredding the toy? If you have a head-strong dog, or heavy chewer, this toy offered a little bit of constructive, destructive-outlet for my pup.but you can find that in cheaper toys, not the best bang for your buck.

Pros
  • Encourages dogs to use all of their senses during play
Cons
  • May not have the desired throwing ability

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Didn't last 24 hours

Didn't last 24 hours before we had to throw it away. We don't even have an extreme chewer, just a dog that adores stuffed animals. It was good quality and I liked how tough it felt. But for what we paid, I expected it to last longer than it did.

Pros
  • A little pricey but good for my dog (pomsky).
Cons
  • Pup tore it apart in like 20 minutes- and he is a 20lb corgi.

Cheap peice of trash

Didn't last an hour of playing material ripped open immediately didn't last an hour most over priced toy ever. Do not even waste your money.

Pros
  • Helps improve a dog's mental and emotional well-being
Cons
  • May not be as fun for some dogs to play with

Meh, big boring bird

First of all, this thing is huge! It stands about 10" tall and it's very hard. My pit bull didn't destroy it completely, but was able to tear the seams, then I think he lost interest. It's just okay.

Pros
  • Perfect for playful and active breeds
Cons
  • May not be as versatile as other dog toys

These tuffy toys are no longer tuffy

In less than 24 hrs my dogs have torn these toys open and unstuffed them. These toys used to be so much better quality and would last for months.

Pros
  • Designed to be gentle on a dog's teeth and gums
Cons
  • May not be comfortable for dogs who enjoy biting down hard on their toys

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Tuff Scale of 8? Nope.

45 seconds: Binding on beak torn.11 minutes: seam on foot ripped open and leg destuffed. She's gotten bored with it for now, but I can't imagine it'll even last her an hour at this rate. 3 stars because it's pretty cute, but not remotely "tuff."

Pros
  • Tough enough to withstand even the toughest playtime sessions
Cons
  • May not be suitable for extreme outdoor conditions

Run away from the Toucan!

Got this at Christmas for my 3 month old Bull Terrier. On May 4th the toy was destroyed. My puppy is NOT even very aggressive when it comes to chewing things. She chews on Nylabones and we bought the Tuffy Whale which is still in great shape, but this one.is a real piece of junk. we did machine wash it once as the packaging says is okay. We elected not to throw it in the dryer once we saw several loose strings. I would NOT recommend this toucan.

Pros
  • Helps prevent destructive chewing behavior
Cons
  • May not be soft enough for some dogs to cuddle with

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Disappointing for my opinion

I expected more from this toy within an hour of playing with the toy the seam at leg started ripping. My dog is not a chewer he was just shaking the toy back and forth. Dog owners know what I mean.

Pros
  • Perfect for dogs who love to play rough
Cons
  • May not be as tactilely stimulating as other toys on the market

Revainrating 3 out of 5

RIP Toucan. lasted less than an hour

I've ordered other toys from this brand and they were fairly durable. This one was destroyed very quickly by my german shepherd.

Pros
  • Provides a fun and rewarding way to train and bond with your dog
Cons
  • May not be worth the asking price in terms of durability and versatility

I'd have to say that this is the tuffest tuffy we've had. Maybe 4 months now and not a seem broken. Other Tuffys get ripped in a few weeks (which is still pretty good) but this guy is intimidatingly strong. And pretty large. Maybe my dogs are afraid of it. Get it.

Pros
  • Provides added mental stimulation for dogs
Cons
  • May not be able to withstand prolonged use
