SUPER, SUPER bottle handle.

I received the XT. that may be redundant. I use insulated camel goat flasks and this thing holds them like a pair of vises. If I ever launch a bottle, this thing is gonna shoot that bottle to the damn moon. If you use larger bottles, the XLAB Carbon Gorilla would probably be the best cage. Serious. I'm gonna die trying to snatch my bottle out of that thing's clutches.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Quality

The carbon wears out and the separators slip out from under the studs

Don't think you'll never lose a water bottle (even the right one) again. Mine squirms on every ride when it's bumpy. Also, after a few years, the bolts that hold them wear through the carbon, so the cage can actually slip over the bolt head and turn upside down, starting your bottle. The photo shows how much wider it is at the chafing point. After that you have to set the puck. Screw heads should be larger. I'm giving it two stars because it looks cool and light.

Pros
  • Outstanding overall performance
Cons
  • Upgrades available

Searching for the best cage I came across this one and was hoping for 14lbs.

I ride a Santa Cruz Bronson and my bottle cage sits on the underside of the down tube which puts a lot of strain on the cage on steep descents. I broke 2 Ibera carbon frames and couldn't find an aluminum frame that stayed strong enough to keep the bottle from falling throughout the ride. I stumbled across this looking for a better cage and was hoping the 14lb holding power would work, well it works amazingly. I keep the bottle in a tank top for easy access and flip it over with the cage bottleโ€ฆ

Also fits bike frames

I was looking for a carbon fiber bottle cage that would be strong enough for my mountain bike. I have a Blackburn Camber CF bottle cage but it doesn't hold a bottle very well on mountain trails. I don't think it was built for off-road use. I wanted to buy a titanium cage from King but I found it kinda ugly. I really wanted carbon fiber. When I received this cage I was concerned that it would not fit my frame. The packaging says it's made specifically for the "XLAB Carbon Wing" and doesn't sayโ€ฆ

Great product but overpriced.

Xlab Rear Hydraulics won first place in the 2013 Kona Iron Man Championship. At my last triathlon I noticed all the riders with this system and bought it! I love it! I have an Xlab Superwing, 2 Xlab Gorilla XT Carbon cages, 2 Xlab One shot bottles and an Xlab Kona bag. Pros: 1) This rear system fits the back of my saddle perfectly. 2) The cages do not interfere with my aero position or my aero bike frame. 3) Cells securely hold XLab flasks. 4) The cages can have multiple positions for the rider

  • Permanent Test Results

Instant satisfaction - these things are legal

I bought these bottle cages as part of the Xlab hydration system on my trike. I originally had a pair of Bontrager Race Lite cages that looked cool, but I had trouble starting the bottles on even the smallest of bumps. I don't want to sacrifice race day dehydration which is why I bought these cages. Buyer Note - Note that the XT cage is different from the original Gorilla cage. I called Xlab and found the only difference was the grip strength (2x more than the original Gorilla). Since they areโ€ฆ

  • Incredible piggy bank

Holding a bottle. HERE

2013 Oceanside 70.3 - a few kilometers on the bike there is a big bump. I was in the second to last wave so there were about 2000+ people ahead of me. Literally hundreds of water bottles are strewn across this hill. These people have NOT used Gorilla XT. As I drove over a bump, the guy in front of me *almost* lost his rear bottle - it's hanging by a string in a cage. I drive to him and report - a bottle saved. What I can say about this cage is that it won't let go of your bottle. It makesโ€ฆ
