Works best in cutters

After cutting some bike cables with everything in my tool box I bought them. They work great and instead of being afraid to replace worn out cables on the bikes I have replaced them all on 6 family bikes. But really, how much would it cost them to add a dedicated crimping machine?

I bought these routers to install new wiring and housing.

I bought these cutters to install new cables and housings on my mountain bike. The wire cutters ensure a very clean cut on both the cable and the housing. This is an indispensable tool. If you tried to cut the hull with anything else, you would destroy it. Bikes are very easy to handle if you have the right tools and this is definitely one of them.

The cuts on the cable were perfect. It leaves a not-so-clean cut on the .

I bought a cheap XLC Por cable cutter and got exactly what I expected. Affordable and generally reliable tool. I used it to replace the cables and cover on my bike last weekend and it delivered. The cuts on the cable were perfect. However, it leaves a not-so-clean cut on the case, which cannot be repaired. Good product.

Excellent tool for cutters

I have read reviews of XLC Pro cable and housing cutters. A reviewer included a cross-sectional view of the cable and case. It won me over and it was less than $20.00. When it arrived I cut my bike's cable, crimped the end cap and cut the body cable. No fraying or kinking of the housing cable. Some reviewers said it doesn't frizz. I used the slot that is on one of the blades. I put a connector on the cable, inserted it into the slot and squeezed the handle.

Ideal for homemade wrenches.

My friend owned a bike shop and he has a basement full of professional bike tools. So this pair is not in his collection. But he's spent more on tools than I've spent on bikes and bike accessories in my entire life. As one reviewer mentioned, they don't handle the case very well. But chargeable? And I have to replace maybe 3 or 4 cables a year. I'm willing to trade expert-level perfection for dirt-cheap enthusiast-level performance. These are excellent. So if you are looking for a professional…

Great tool at half the price!

I bought this tool to fit a seat post on my bike. I will only use this occasionally so I don't need the most expensive professional tool. This cable and case cutter was about half the price of others and had good reviews, so I gave it a try. It works great! I haven't used expensive name brand cutters so I don't know what I'm missing, but I can't imagine they are much better than these. It cuts the cable easily and cleanly. It easily and cleanly cuts the cable jacket. It's awesome! I made a…

Great price and works great!

For years I've used plain old tool kit cutters or a dremel to cut bike wires. This is always my least favorite part of the service. Cables are pinched and housings are torn. It takes several minutes to cut all the cables, especially twisted shifter cables. After all, the Dremel melts the cable housing and I regularly break the cutting wheels before the job is done. For my latest build I finally decided to invest in a pair of custom cable cutters and I'm amazed at the difference. I decided to…
