Fantastic lens and not just for the money.

The package came earlier than expected! I've been using this for about a week now and have experienced quite a bit myself. My concerns from other reviewers and reality: Concerns: Lightweight and cheap plastic: I'm as comfortable with this as I am with any other Nikon lens. To be honest, no problem. Concerns: Quality differences: I've taken a lot of low light shots so far and they all look amazing (tomato, tomoto), don't they? Concerns: Louder AF: Honestly, this thing is a lot quieter and…

Pros
  • nice thing
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something

After playing around for a while and hitting the limits of my entry level kit lens (AF-P DX Nikkor 18-55mm f/3.5-5), I decided to enter the world of luminous primes (as recommended for the second steps in the DSLR world). I have nothing to compare to expect a complete lens (and loads of online reviews) and indeed this lens makes an improvement. It might not be a "shut up and take my money" case, but I'm in the target audience for this lens and I'm happy with it. Shot sharpness at 2.5f and…

Build quality is okay, but images come out soft.

Bought for my Nikon D3200 to use mainly for indoor non-flash photography. Because it's a fast lens that can let in a lot of light, it's ideal for this application. Pros: Build quality is actually pretty solid. The materials don't feel cheap, the manual focus ring is well cushioned and the metal bracket stays securely in place. Autofocus works well - a bit noisier than the standard lens - but definitely no complaints. Good bokeh. Cons: - The output images are boring. I knew that at wider…

What I liked about this 50mm f1.8 lens: Is it cheap? YesDid I like the f1.8 for less money than the 18-55mm f5.6 at 50mm in DX format? Metal bracket? Yes, it fits perfectly. Does it always show up well? Does the autofocus work well on my D3400, D7000, D810 and even my D500 and N80 cameras? YesDid I like the auto focus on D40, D60, D3xxx, D5xxx cameras without built in auto focus motor? Yes. Autofocus faster than Nikon D lenses? Yes. Where are the best AF-D lenses? Yes. Does it work fine at 10…

Comparison between Nikon and YONGNUO

This lens is very good. I would recommend this to anyone trying to stay in the lower budget lens category without significantly sacrificing quality. If your budget allows you to buy Nikon I would do so. Now Nikon's recommendation doesn't mean it's a bad lens, because frankly it's very good and the differences can most likely be corrected in post-processing. The best way to look at lenses is to compare them side by side with the same settings, lighting and subjects. Both were shot at F1.8, the…

Pros

Я наткнулся на этот объектив, просматривая объективы Nikkor и Tamron, и, честно говоря, не мог поверить в цену, когда впервые увидел That. I thought it was cheap junk plastic for a toy camera, but then I saw that the lens had almost a full 5/5 stars with lots of reviews, so I was intrigued. I looked at most of the reviews and a few sample photos and decided to take a chance. Considering today's lens prices, the 50mm fixed focal length offering was too good to pass up. Received the lens and was…
