Good value for money, I recommend it.

For many tasks, all the mentioned minuses do not matter, keep this in mind and think carefully about what kind of tasks you have, analyze the minuses, because. they are quite key and in some places you will feel bad from them, and in other cases you will not even notice. Also, there is a certain guess of mine that if you use only the Chinese of one brand, then two minuses concerning, in fact, the impulse, will bypass you. Who wants to learn more about the compatibility of this Chinese brand…

    Pros
    • + Top notch functionality. + Built-in radio module, no need to cling to the bottom of the synchronizer + Price!
    Cons
    • - very flimsy and capricious battery cover - navigation wheel capricious, not always in contact - the pulse power is "own" - not according to the standard, it is necessary to select it for the Canon one used in pair, with the same settings, the power of the Chinese is half as much - the main disadvantage is the color temperature.

Excellent quality, absolutely not expected for such a price.

In general, a very good, reliable flash. It is especially useful when used in conjunction with YN-622c transmitters. I use it mainly remotely. I can safely recommend to buy. Pros below: 1. Good workmanship. 2. Convenient operation copied from the Canon 600EX-RT flash. 3. Wide functionality: TTL, high-speed synchronization, first curtain, second curtain. 4. Radio control. 5. Low price. Got cons: 1. Unlike Canon flashes, there is no head position lock button. You just need to twist it like a…

    Unsatisfactory, upset by this product.

I use a Canon 430 ex ii and an old Nissin puff. All flashes work in manual mode through YN622C. I brought home the YN685 flash, turned on with a pleasant sound, set all the parameters. The first puff is successful, then it does not work. Neither through a radio channel, nor directly from the shoe on the camera, nor with a synchronizer connected to the puff. The light for the presence of pairing via the radio channel is on. When you turn it off and on again, the puff puffs again (both from the…

    Pros
    • I bought 685 puff for a number of reasons: the ability to work at 1/128, the built-in synchronizer and the price.
    Cons
    • Extremely unstable quality.

Just a terrible product, very upset.

I have 4 pieces, I use them at a banquet. The first time I ruined almost the entire banquet, because these flash miracles were randomly cut down. I had to wander among them all over the hall, shoot from 3-meter racks and turn it on and off, then it started working again. After that, I wrote to the Chinese of the site and asked for the firmware, because this is the only method that could help me. But it did not help. For example, we shoot 20 frames by 21, one of the flashes stops puffing, and so

    Pros
    • It is very convenient that there is a built-in synchronizer. Low price. Perhaps that's all.
    Cons
    • Suddenly stops flashing

A good product, more pros than cons.

This flash was the fourth flash I have ever used. Canon 580 changed to 600, and I also have a Sigma 530 Super and this one. I took it along with the YN-622C-TX synchronizer in order to fully control the flash from the camera and not attach an additional receiver to it. Because of this, batteries are not needed for the synchronizer, and the flash freely stands on the mount to the mini softboxes (when using the 622 synchronizer, the flash head had to be turned 180 degrees) In the summer I tried…

    Pros
    • Adequate price for its level. Compatible with YongNuo 622 synchronizers
    Cons
    • Very voracious. Consumes batteries even in standby mode. It basks in the sun and stops working.

    Stops working after 5-10 uses.

I had other Yongnuo flashes that were workhorses. I have this for TTL capabilities. It worked fine for the first few months, but I've probably only used it 5-10 times. It was a great flash for off-camera use with the 622 transmitter, and the high-speed sync worked great. I shouldn't say that the controls aren't very easy to understand, especially on the fly. Bad news: I got a "hot" error while filming a party and it hasn't worked since. After some research I found that this is a very common…

Great flash but newer batches suffer from thermal protection issues.

Love this flash, I've had 5 in the last few years. They work very well and the trigger system is fantastic. I had to replace a few to make it my fault. However, newer batches suffer from thermal protection problems. This is the second flash in a row I've bought that suddenly goes into thermal protection mode and won't come out no matter what you do. This basically renders the flash inoperable. I replaced both under warranty but it's hard to trust these flashes on set as I'm a professional…

    Great flash for cheap photos

Received a few days ago and am damn happy. I have a Canon 600XR-RT at work - a great flash - at a great price. I now have six Yongnuo flashes - 3 560s, 2-468s and this one. 560 is not TTL - others. The radio trigger on this flash obviously doesn't work with the others I have, but they all fire on infrared in slave mode. So while it's a good basic flash for newer radio-triggered devices, I can still use it as my main flash, fired off-camera by my pocket assistants, and have it activate…

Great deal - radio transmitter redundant

Amazing. I do NOT understand the comments about the "limited functionality" radio. Everything works. I use this with a YN-622C-TX on my Canon 6D and can control everything from the camera. Tried normal flash, second-curtain sync, multi, e-ttl-II with auto tracking, high-speed sync, etc. Everything works. I see no need for an external radio. HSS offers a shutter speed of 1/4000 (at 6D) and is perfect for indoor stop motion shots like kids who never stop moving. With normal flash, there's a lot…

YN685 is a good flash. I spent $200 to vote.

Here's a Yongnuo YN685 review and a quick comparison with Canon's flagship model, the 600EX II-RT. The Canon Speedlite 600EX II-RT is currently available from Revain for $479. Yongnuo's YN685 is currently priced at $101. So for the price you get 4 YN685 for the price of 1 600EX II-RT. In itself, the YN685 is a good flash. 600EX II-PT. Upon opening the box, I was pleasantly surprised by the build quality of the device. A few test shots and everything works great. I really like the metal mounting

The lightning is not delivered, neither is the seller. Beware of both!

I've had a few other YN handheld flashes and they were generally good. I needed TTL capability and based on the reviews of this device I definitely felt it fit the bill. I've read a few reviews about DOA shipping and I usually don't worry about problems returning DOA products because I come first. Some reviews here speak of misfiring, sticking, or overheating issues. Unfortunately, I was on set about a week after closing the rear window and was able to test the flash. It was awful and…

    Overview with compatibility information

Excellent and inexpensive flash running TTL and HSS on camera and the same activation off camera with another YN685 flash or YN-622C-TX controller. Output (brightness) is roughly on par with Canon's flagship flashes. As with all Yongnuo products, the quality control sucks, meaning your flash could fail on arrival or have some weird flaws if thoroughly tested. In my experience, Yongnuo Flash products either die after the first few uses or last a very long time. So I always carry a backup, but…
