This is a decent metering pump with toothed plastic rollers instead of the bare shaft friction drive found in other inexpensive 12v pumps. I measured it dry running at 250mA, not 30mA as advertised. Maybe they meant 300? I'm under the impression that all those cheap metering pumps to save a few bucks don't unload the motors enough so they draw high current and low speed. Motorized ball valves now draw 65mA when moving (12V) so there's no reason they couldn't work there if they were better…

Half failure for aquarium pumps and filters

I've bought 4 of these in the last few months. The first one I sent back was dead on arrival. The second one I had trouble with only turned one way. I removed the end cap that holds the brushes and found that one of the brushes was not seated properly in the plastic housing. After correctly installing and reinstalling the end plate, the engine ran normally. I had one of these in continuous daily use, pumping brine that occasionally clogged lines and valves. The pump will operate correctly and…

Nice little pump!

I like this little pump for several reasons. This is a self-priming pump and unlike all other types of pumps I've experimented with, it doesn't require a check valve on the outlet to prevent water from backflowing through the pump when it's not running. It pumps faster than other peristaltic pumps I've tried. Although the gear drive adds some noise, I prefer it to the friction drive because I'm less concerned about wear and tear that ultimately affects reliability. The transparent cover of the…

I used this pump with a 5 gallon tank full of chlorox (chlorine) to automate my pool to chlorinate. I connected this pump to a power supply and an external electric timer to control the run time. It turns on 3 times a day and runs 3 minutes each time to add chlorine to my pool. Has been working for 3 weeks with no problems. I installed it under my deck in a spot where it can't get wet from the rain as the motor isn't waterproof. Review updated 10 Jul 2016 The pump stopped working due to burnt…
