Dislike lamp life. Lasted about a week, the previous one lasted at least 2 months and always stayed on. Started turning off the lightbulb everyday and noticed it didn't last as long. Bought 3 packs, the 2nd was enough for less time. Get another lightbulb, I'll leave it on and see how long it lasts.

We bought this product for our reptiles to try something different than what we normally use. We used one on our turtle and after 2 weeks it had already burned out. We thought it might just be a bad lightbulb, but then it happened again to one of our bearded dragons. You would think a reptile specific bulb would last longer, but I don't think so. However, I will say that they work well in a short time.

Day Blue bulbs were purchased to protect outdoor bird baths from freezing. The bulbs were enclosed in a metal platform and containers of water were placed on top. Of these three installations, only one worked, and the other two bulbs burned out within hours of their installation. I know they weren't meant for that purpose, but in this extreme Michigan cold, we'll try anything. Therefore, I do not recommend these lamps for purposes other than those recommended by the manufacturer.

I've ordered from here before. So I ordered 3 packs of these because I usually use them well. First they were wrapped where the tape was on the lamp. everyone had this problem. The first one used broke right where the metal meets the glass. I thought ok you got them for a bargain no BFD the second one blew up as soon as I turned it on. the third works fine. These lamps are perfect for my son's turtle tank. This bulb is not as fragile as others we've had. He can move the lid to where the light is without worrying about the light going on or off or the bulb burning out. Turtles are found on the rock much more frequently under this light than under other distinctive lights. I love that it comes in a 3 pack so if one burns out I don't have to order another right away.
