seems to work well and does its job

seems to work well and does its job. and for those wondering if it burns through Rubbermaid. it is not. Even if you sit under it, it doesn't go through, melt or anything. it is safe on hard plastic. A super cheap plastic basket can melt or discolour.

Pros
  • delivery was very fast
Cons
  • unreliable

Easy to use, works great.

These mats are great for my geckos. I attach them to the bottom corner of the tank so they can warm their bellies there and move to other places in the habitat when they don't need warmth. The adhesive on the pads lasts about a year, then you'll need to use tape or tape to attach them. I haven't had any other problems with it and have been using it for several years.

  • Certified

Very low temperature best for very small reptiles

I bought this to mount to the bottom of a 2 gallon aquarium for our tiny red eared crawlers. It was small so we didn't want to use the built in heater just yet. This heating pad does not heat and does not heat at all. If you need warmth, choose something bigger. If you have something small like an anole and just need some warmth, this in-tank warmer can help.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Empty

This is the best of the three different brands I currently own

Lots of warmth and good insulation. This is the best of the three different brands I currently own. Some say the glue doesn't work, I didn't have one and that's fine as I prefer to glue something permanently to the tank. I use foil tape, the type used for piping in HVAC systems (no, it's not tape, so don't use it or you'll end up with a gooey mess.

  • The best

Pyro is most popular in reptiles and amphibians

Our bearded dragons like it. We have a low-wattage 8-watt unit on one corner, and it gives him a place to warm up if he wants to (although it definitely doesn't affect the temperature of his 60-gallon tank much, it does warm the surface of the bottom one corner and he often goes there) . and shrinks his belly to take full advantage of it. It digests food better and saves energy overall, since on average we use an hour or two less of light per day. The adhesive mount isn't perfect, but seems to…

Not warm enough and doesn't stick

This hot water bottle doesn't really generate much heat nor does it stick to the bottom of the glass tub. I had to take another user's advice and put the DVD case under the film to keep it attached to the tank while I wait for another adhesive film to arrive in the mail. I tried using this in a leopard gecko tank and it definitely didn't seem to give off enough heat to keep it comfortable and healthy, even through a substrate (terrarium felt liner) about 1/4" thick.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

Don't waste your time, stick power is zero

At first I thought these heating mats were perfect. Not so! In less than a month they started to come off the reservoir a bit, but I pushed them back and everything was fine. It's been a few months and I can't tie them at all. I don't know if it was a bad batch with bad stickiness or if they're always made that badly. Very disappointed. Additionally, once the mat starts to peel off, the thermostat goes haywire trying to get the air up to 90 degrees so you can imagine how hot the mat is. Again I

Keep my hummingbirds happy!

I use this as a heater for one of my hummingbird feeders, the ASPECTS 430 Hummzinger Highview Mini Hummingbird Feeder. I built a platform the size of a heating pad and just put a feeder on it. It was 23°F outside this morning, I checked my feeder with a handheld IR thermometer and it was 47°F. So good luck! My wintering lobsters get hot food and I don't have to take the feeder out at night and worry about getting out of bed early to take the feeder outside. Now that I know it works well I've…

My ball python gives 2 thumbs up

But it works. Someone has to figure out a better way to make these things stick to the bottom of the tank. I've been using these things on my reptiles for many years. The problem I have is that I tape it up and then check again a few days later and it's hanging out there. So I came up with a plan. If like me you have wooden coasters that you buy at the pet store, they are the right size for your aquarium and have large cutouts between the bottom of the tank and the top of the coaster. This is…
