Very sharp, well made, powerful.

Very sharp, cuts through 4 layers of nylon webbing. Clean cuts and removable through practical side opening. A hard wearing item, I'm sure it will last a long time and can be sharpened. If you liked my review, please rate it as helpful.

Quality tool

This punch does exactly what it was designed to do. It punches clear, clean holes in the skin. I mainly use it for guitar straps that are used with end pins. Works perfectly. This is a high quality tool. So far I haven't had to sharpen it, but it is evident that it can be sharpened easily. If I don't lose it, that kick will most likely last me for life.

If you need such a tool, YOU NEED THIS TOOL!

As with any tool rating, it is buyer/reviewer dependent. I've been a mechanic for over 40 years so if you need a tool like this, THIS IS YOUR TOOL! If you find this tool isn't what you thought it was then YOU DON'T KNOW what you are doing. A GOOD tool is a tool that works for you when you know what you're doing!

  • Ideal for outdoor activities

Open a coconut, add a straw, drink

Another way to open a young coconut with a straw in one delicious hit with a hammer. Young Coconut Opener - (Punch Tap) Haidragon Coconut Knife or outrageously expensive solutions: LIDOHO Coconut Opener Kit with Hammer This half-inch steel punch is just what I needed for a lifetime of use at minimal cost (eight cash).

3/16 " punch thicker than expected

A great solid 3/16" punch that unfortunately had little to no body/shank size information in the product description and was too thick for our needs . included a photo of the perforator on the grid for size info. Dimensions: 4" long, 3/8" body width, 3/16" hole size. Made of softer steel and will require more frequent sharpening as it loses its sharpness. But the result is a very solid construction. Not suitable for our purposes, therefore return.

Improperly Sharpened & Factory Sharpened

With a hard hammer hit with a strong composite point, the hollow punch should go through the soft, thin skin and into the soft wooden base fairly easily. Not this hit. The end was sharpened but not properly sharpened. I had to use a utility knife with a long, thin blade to cut holes, which this punch didn't do. The end result was a lot more work to salvage the look of the holes. I worked on the punch tip, sharpened and sanded it, and now it cuts clean holes.

  • Absolutely Amazing!

Stops sharpening after 50 strokes on cardboard on a pine board.

Blunt and does not keep sharp. The first came with a nick on the edge, had to test it but just sent it back for a replacement. The replacement comes without a nickname. After 10 uses on folded (political flyer) cardboard over a pine block it took 5-7 hammer hits and the last one still didn't cut. I tried sharpening it with a dremel and it worked better for a while. Still couldn't hold the edge very long. I don't think this metal has been hardened. I would try a different brand if I don't intend

These are inaccurate instruments. I ordered 10mm, when it arrived it was stamped 3/8 and 10.0. The actual measurement was somewhere between the two, ranging from 9.87 to 9.97mm in diameter. It was sharp enough to cut #4 plastic, corrugated and cereal box cardboard. I'm sure it will cut through leather and most rubber pads with one good punch. I use it with a small hammer and a nylon cutting board, it cuts in one good stroke. / Hammer side. I don't think it's hardened tool steel. I keep it in…

Heavy duty metal punch, sharp edge

Purchased for punching holes in plastic lids of standard and wide mouth jars. It makes the right size holes to mount silicone gaskets to insert three-piece air valves for fermentation projects like kombucha and raw sauerkraut. It's much cheaper to buy lids, gaskets, and valves to assemble than to buy ready-made fermentation lid kits. I didn't want to buy an electric drill or a special bit. This tool cuts through tough plastic can ends with one or more hammer blows. I'm a bit concerned that the…
